You answer questions while I am still formulating them. A complete video lesson

Another great video Mark. Vectric should hire you to do all their videos. I think they're better than anything Vectric has done. I never fail to learn something from your videos... Thanks so much!

Thanks very much for the kind words, Terry. Vectric actually does very good tutorials - they just have to cater to as many skill levels as they can in a single video. They can't take the time to make videos for folks who have never done this before like I can. I've spoken with several people at Vectric, and they do like what I'm doing, and appreciate the time it takes to do it. I have a very good relationship with them, and I'd like to think everyone is better off in the end. Thanks again!

Great job Mark, I keep watching your videos over and over and it’s amazing the tid-bits of hidden information I keep picking up. When I am in the shop prepping wood for a cut or cleaning, I just put on one of your videos on the overhead and let it play while working, then all of a sudden you mention a procedure in the back ground of me working that catches my attention even after I have watched that same video several times, and poof there’s the answer for something I have struggled with. Thanks for sharing.

Mark, thanks for the video and the shout out as the "sharp eyed viewer"! I knew somewhere there was a button for duplicating sides. I did purchase VCarve Pro and thanks to your videos I have been able to dive right in and start designing projects for my new Shapeoko CNC machine (currently working on wood trivet designs for my next craft show to compliment my custom cutting boards). Keep'em coming and will follow along as I learn through you how to get the most out of the VCarve Pro software.

One thing I noticed as I'm walking through this tutorial after I shut off the Bitmap layer I couldn't highlight any vectors. Then I noticed you had GROUP VECTORS turned off. I had it turned on. Makes a big difference. I also learned about reducing the points to machine!!

That "Group Vectors" thing catches a lot of people off guard. I completely forgot to mention it. I will in the next videos that offers that option. Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for demystifying yet another facet of Vcarve. I hate to think how much trial and error I would have gone through to get to where I needed to be for something like this. It happened that the heart was a good example of what to watch for as far as exact mirroring works out. Although my untrained eye didn't pick up the uneven spacing, you showed us another consideration to make before finalizing a toolpath and carving it. Thanks again.

Thank you, Jim. A lot of things are subtle, like the heart example. I showed it to my wife, and she couldn't see what I was talking about. It's all up to you and your eye. If it "doesn't look right" to you, then it doesn't look right. If you like it, then it's fine. If I'm 100% honest, that heart still doesn't look right to me. Hopefully I'll have it shaped the way I want it by next Valentine's Day...
@jimhester20045 жыл бұрын
@@MarkLindsayCNC I know what you mean about "doesn't look right". My best friend and my son say I have a condtion called "M Syndrome" (M for meticulous). I think it would be more accurate to use the word "Precise", but that's just me.

When you place the dividing line on the fleur de lis why did it automatically join both together? I'm doing a similar step on a project but I find the vectors are still open and need to click "join open vectors" before using the trim tool. Thank You
@MarkLindsayCNC2 жыл бұрын
I'm confused about your question. When I drew the dividing line, it didn't join automatically. I did have to click Join Open Vectors. Am I not understanding your question?

Mark can you show me how to make dog holes that are evenly spaced 96mm apart I can get a few but how do I do this and make the holes consistent exactly 96 mm in does for a new dog hole table 4+8'l really have learned a lot from your videos but can't find what I need anywhere so far
@MarkLindsayCNC3 жыл бұрын
I can make a video on the subject, but it'll be several weeks before I can get to it. Basically, you want to draw one hole in it's proper position, then create a Linear Array of copies of that hole. If you want them 96mm apart center to center, you'd use an Offset of 96 mm. If you want them 96 mm apart edge to edge, you would use a Gap of 96 mm. I did a tutorial on creating Linear Arrays about 5 years ago, but it really does need updating. I'll put it on the list of videos to shoot. Here's a link to my previous video on Linear Arrays: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIOzhoOkhsSin7s

Thanks for this great video. I 'm not able to select a box for the deleting the noise. I drag a box from left to right but this box disappear when unclick the left mouse button. I use Aspire 9.011. What I do wrong?. Thanks for your answer
@MarkLindsayCNC5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the box does disappear, but the vectors inside that box will be selected in pink.
@thinkpink19585 жыл бұрын
THanks one more time. The problem was in that i must ungroup vectors before
@MarkLindsayCNC5 жыл бұрын
Ahhh, yes. They must be ungrouped first.

I was surprised that you did not specify a depth for the V-Bit. How does the V-Bit determine the depth to cut?

I did a 4-part mini-series on v-carving, and addressed this very issue in Part 1. Here's a link to Part 1 of the series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHiqYayKhc6batk

Mark How important is it that we watch your videos in sequence? I see some titles that interest me that are ahead of the schedule
@MarkLindsayCNC5 жыл бұрын
It's not important at all. Feel free to watch in any order you wish. If you get into trouble, check some of the earlier episodes - the answer may be there.
