1 Mana Deal 30 DAMAGE?! How is that ALLOWED???

The goal of this Wild Hearthstone Showdown in the Badlands Shadow Priest OTK combo deck is to use Holy Springwater combined with Prophet Velen! We do this by playing Prophet Velen and Holy Springwater to heal a damage character for 1 Health. Then, we play Embrace the Shadow and the excess bottle from Holy Springwater for the OTK! Velen quadruples the damage because its both healing and damage? Thats weird. Then it comes out to 30 because the spell damage also affects the damage healing? Seems like a strange interaction

Not exactly. Velen first doubles the among of healing of the bottle, which only restores 1 health so saves the excess healing (2*8-1 = 14) in the bottle. Then, the shadow spell transforms the healing of the mini bottle in damage, affected by the spell damage, and then Velen doubles this damage. Pretty logic 🤣

Nevermind I see what's happening, velen is doubling the healing of the first spell so there is 15 excess instead of 7. That makes more sense

​@@billybobmcjohnson8526the excess healong is 14 to be exact, it's total 30 dmg because the spell dmg +1 is being doubled, 14 x 2 + 1 x 2 = 30

@@bobbib164 No, the excess healing is 15 which is doubled to get 30. It looks like they changed the Spell Damage interaction so that healing converted to damage doesn't benefit from spell damage (at 17:17 you can see that the Holy Springwater only deals 16 when it would deal 18 if it benefited from Spell Damage)

Does it have to at least heal for 1 for velen's doubling to count? otherwise i don't see why you wouldn't use it on an undamaged minion instead.
