Well due to priest wielding the light aswell as void and fel being formed from a clash of the two wouldent priests also have that same understanding you gave locks credit for over the priests? Also there are levels and degrees to corruption and I believe that the level locks tap into regarding the void is not comparable to the degree of wielding aswell as embraceming a priest has which is corruption and mindbending to a different degree. There could be a reason most locks chose to wield fel which presented itself later instead of void which was already present and appearantly requiring such mental fortitude making those same pre-lock magic users avoid it. Another point is the fear the biggest fel user which is Sargeras has when it comes to the void wanting to always destroy anything to do with void/shadow and always chooses to destroy it when the development of the power is in a juvenile state confirming the fear of it being able to overwhelm even more. At the end of the day any force is able to beat the other in some way, depending on the wielder ofcourse. Only thing is that due to the mental fortitude that is needed to counter the insanity inducing void I believe it makes the wielder superior because there is more control over the mind which in turn offers more control over matter. Aside that I see fel more as corruption/draining/sacrificing of the users plus others life source or energy rather than corruption of the mind which requires a certain mental fortitude. A fortitude which has high chances of making the user more devloped, cunning and having the ability to exploit the volatility of both magics aswell as minds within the battle but not before the destructive powers of fel blasts the priest to smithereens ofcourse which has quite the high chance of doing so. I just love speculating about the lore and this is me saying these are a few aspects which add a interesting dimension to the ordeal. I always explore these things in my mind after watching your vids because you always bring a very interesting point of view to the table. I really really like your videos hehe. Have a nice day :)

This is interesting because warlocks use fel and demons and the fel and demons work for the void. The void is the opposite of light. They are constantly at battle. So if demons and fel work for the void that means by extension the warlock works for the shadow priest. I just don’t see a byproduct beating the main source

Oof, now this is a tough match, both are extremely deadly in their own right. A warlock wreaking havoc with raw chaos magic, or a priest who can literally destroy one's mind. I'd still lean towards shadow priests, the power they wield makes them the masters of mind, body and spirit, being incredibly disciplined, where as warlocks are always not, they are chaotic, making them very easy to exploit, find a weakness, If the priest can get into the warlock's head...it's pretty much game over.

But that's not warlocks. Warlocks are the ma that practices 100 kicks 1000 times. Sure nowhere near the power of that one kick but still strong as anything and a wide toolkit. If you can get around that 1 kick the master is useless. The warlock still has 99 kicks they are pretty respectable at.

My reason for this was touched on in the video. The power of void seems to have its own cosmic source where as fel seems to just be a result of void residue mixing with light residue. A shadow priest drawing from the source of the void would be far more powerful than any warlock could hope to dream.

I think this: Paladin vs death knight: more often than not the death knight will win Shaman vs druid: the Druid pretty easily beats the shaman, due to their power level of nature being higher Warrior vs rogue: Warriors, with their skill and heavy armor, the rogues invisibility and poison is a little useless there. And saurfang killed a rogue with his bare hands.

@@sterncrag2033 I disagree on the Shaman vs Druid response. I think they have equal power to each other when it comes to nature magic, they just do things differently. Druids focus on the living spirits of nature such as wisps, treants, dryads, beasts, etc. Shamans focus on the nonliving spirits of nature such as the dead and the elementals. They're 2 halves of the same coin.

@@marcoscorpas2752 true, but a shaman can very rarely go all out. Thrall, possibly the strongest shaman ever lost his power afflter going all out against Garrosh in 2 mins. Malfurion takes out a whole squadron of horde in a few seconds, suffocating one in roots, like its nothing. Druids have a much higher power cap than shaman in my opinion

Theoretically speaking a shaman could flood the world, cause every volcano to erupt, hurricanes, earthquakes. What is a bear going to do to a mountain? What is a bird going to do against a hurricane? Warlock magic has a lot of focus on the willpower and mental fortitude to command and control demons / the chaotic fel energy. It really takes some next level skills to literally wrestle power from a god and steal his army from him to use against them. But the only time Medihv / sargeras infiltrated Gul’Dans mind it was only briefly to write down instructions. Other than that nobody in the Burning Legion infiltrates another Warlocks Mind despite them being the original class to flip The Legion the bird.

Something to bring up here: Warlocks are also banishers. A cunning warlock would wait the shadow priest to turn into shadow or "void" form and then banish them from the physical plane, as an aberration. Banishing I feel is an important power of the warlock, that gets heavily overlooked. Any being summoned, can be sent back. Banished. A defensive warlock should not be cast-a-side.

I play both these Classes and player skill plus gear means everything in this matchup, on the one hand i made it to Lt General in vanilla WoW in regular BG's on my Warlock which was 2nd highest PVP Title then in existence , with General being the highest. But after i retired her i played my Shadow Priest in BG's and used to regularly chew Warlocks up and spit them out, but that is probably because i knew what they would do before they even did it from having played one.,and had the counter already selected.

I don’t think you can really pick one as the winner tbh. Imo the realms they draw power from are shown to be both very power and it entirely comes down to the individuals involved in the match. It’s not like warlocks are immune to void magic, if anything they have shown time and time again they argue the MOST corruptable class, so shouldn’t void mind attack be extra good against your average lock? In the end I don’t think you can call it, it all depends on the individuals involved and their specific strengths and weaknesses.

Haven't we had more mates go nucking futz in lore than warlocks? I mea. Warlocks basically have KJ,GD, and Archi, and maybe nerzhul though most of his warlock magic was just making portals with a staff. Mages have Azshara, KT, Medivh, Malygos, Kaelthas, and debatable the warlocks mentioned above as well with the exception of the orc bois. Mages are statistically more corruptible than anyone else in wow and cause more of our problems. Even the orc invasion of azeroth wasn't a warlock thing despite the demons. It was a mage/warlock team. The sundering was all on a mage. Don't fall for the propaganda. Outsides of a handful of planetbusting scaled warlocks they aren't responsible for much more than mild irritation and making people uneasy. Mages fuck shit up.

the problem with this is that we know the extent of the fel, we have not even seen a fraction of the extent of the void, so its an impossible call to make, plus with seeing more and more since this video was made, i think the tables have turned, we have seen the void capable of opening up portals and mass teleportation with zero effort beyond the scope of other forms of magic have shown capabilities for, so its quite possible for the shadow priest to just open up a void portal on the warlock and teleport them into space where they suffocate to death, the warlock could attempt to do the same, however a warlock takes time to perform a long ritual they need help with in order to perform it to do the same. A mage might be able to also do this to a shadow priest, but then they can just teleport back, if the use of teleporting is weaponized then the warlock would instantly move to the very bottom of the teleport capable classes.

Lastly, Azshara was saved by the void while her legion masters were still trying to power a portal that was only out there in the first place because of a wound to the planet caused by Ysharj and old god. Void got here first and beats fel any day.

Unfortunately raw power doesn't determine the victor in this case, Gul'dan despite his raw power, was still easily subdued in the past. Not to mention that a knife in the back will kill them just as easily. Fact is, warlocks are only as strong as their pacts with demons that grant em their power, it's why their practically powerless without the said pacts. Player warlocks are just special for gameplay reasons.

Eh I dunno, i always thought of it as warlocks being jack of all trades in dark magic, but master of none. While the shadow priests literally BECOME void, thats how well versed they are. So to me theyre just an upgrade of sorts. And yeah warlocks wield fel, but thats not any sort of counter to void at all. But its not like there are major shadow priest characters in the lore like warlocks have gul'dan and a number of others, so Im sure someone will counter me with that.

I don't think warlocks themselves could win against pretty much any of the other classes. Yet this is not what they try to aim for anyways. Warlocks summon demons preferably as powerful as possible like Gul'dan summoning Archimonde. As an example Illidan could beat Gul'dan alone for sure but Gul'dan would definitely turn the fight into his favor by summoning ancient demons like Mannoroth, Archimonde, Kiljaeden, etc Therefore I think the average shadow priest wins against your average warlock as long as no powerful demon decides to side with the warlock

Archimonde and Kil'Jaeden are both warlocks and not demons per say, if you put either of those two up against Illidan even in a physical fight both of them outmatch him by such a huge margin its not even close, gul'dan is considered near the top of upper echelon of warlocks but he was just a minion/pawn to Archimonde, even after taking the skull of Gul'Dan Illidan was still afraid of Kill'Jaeden despite the big power up he got from it. Archimonde displayed huge physical prowess by fighting Malorne bare handed and snapping his neck, besides that comparison, fel magic is extremely destructive and unless the caster is very unskilled as compared to the warrior/paladin/rogue he is fighting there is little those classes can do even without the warlock summoning demons. Besides as mentioned in the video, warlocks dabble both in fel and void more so whichever one will give them more power is the choice, there isn't any loyalty attached. This essentially makes the shadow priests whole shtick not really effective while the warlock still has fel to call upon which the shadow priest has no understanding of. The warlock class itself gives everything for power and stops at nothing to get more.

Spriest pvp is literally disabling the other person by silence or fear or cc before you get silenced or feared or cc. Whoever draws first depends entirely on weather a spriest kit will be viable or not. I am an diehard spriest and can win most 1v1 against any class but warlocks are brutal and spamming dispel or bouncing ccs is annoying. Also I don’t play retail so the whole voidform burst thing that you guys have is not something I am familiar with lol.

It's not Gul'dan. Gul'dan may be the strongest Azeroth's warlock, but the strongest warlocks lorewise are Archimonde/KJ so far, if you exculde Sargeras for the equation.

Synopsis: While I don’t agree with Doron, saying Void is stronger then Fel. Considering Fel is literally more chaotic and destructive by nature, also by the way Fel was created and also the fact that Fel literally destroys people’s existence’s and uses their souls as fuel. Fel/chaos is the strongest magic of all. it is an ultimate multischool magic type that is the conglomerate of all magic that exist into one, hence chaos. This explains why when interrupted on chaos bolt you are locked from all magic schools there are for the duration of the spell lock. Fel magic = Arcane, Fire, Frost, Nature, Shadow, (Holy, Physical) The second strongest multischool magic type is Cosmic magic = Arcane, Holy, Nature, Shadow Some other multischool magic types are: Astral (Arcane, Nature), Divine (Arcane, Holy), Elemental (Fire, Frost, Nature), Twilight (Holy, Shadow) etc. According to this Doron's confusing Twilight and Fel/Chaos magic, by referring to Fel as the Shadow and Light combined, when this is actually a Twilight magic (a type of magic which priests command lore-wise, even though it's not in the game, at least not available as a playable character). Additionally I see a lot of confusion when referring to void and shadow. Void is more a plain of existence (like the twisting nether) and not a magic type per se, but somewhere along the line they became synonymous. Bro what? Fel is maybe the most destructive power, but not the most powerful one. Idk where did u get that "Fel magic = Arcane, Fire, Frost, Nature, Shadow...", that's straight up false, fel and arcane are both made of light and void energy, just fel is disorder and arcane is order. They are opposites, but the same thing in some way. Fel isn't multischool of magic, it's only 1 magic made out of 2 components, just like H2O= H2+O2.

I think it fits well and has a deep metaphorical implication. The inner struggle between good and evil. The adversarial existence of man. Self being the greatest opponent to contend with. I like it.

Not that hard tbh. You said it yourself in the video. Power level being equal, spriests are specialists with a narrow but powerful toolkit in lore. Warlocks have a very broad range of powers, natively tapping into 3 different cosmic forces and willing to embrace the other 3 if/as needed. Warlocks understand, though cannot utilize, the majority of spriest power. Spriests understand a limited subset of warlock power. Power level being equal the warlock wins more often than not and handily.

Just to be a nerd and have fun with an idea : What if when it comes to Mortals , Fel is more powerful. Here me out. Life itself was created out of Void and shadow.......Just like Fel. So mortal beings could never "fully" embrace Void since we are not born of the void ...where as Life and Fel both coming from this clash of cosmic forces....Maybe mortals can harness fel better than we ever could the void.

Brah this is crap shadow priests wiled the void brah the void is waaaaay more powerful then the fell or the burning legion we are talking about the old gods not some titan that has demons and where did warlocks wield void energy please show ?
