Mark, this is an amazing song. Your solo music is on another level. Thanks for this.

I’m just seeing this now. This band is no doubt my favorite of all time. That’s coming from a Rush Fan. They are the real deal. I’ve been in Recovery for 35+ years. If it weren’t for LOG’s music I may not have made it this far. I went through some very trying times 2015-2017 and it was their music that kept me out of jail, to put it lightly. To hear this is just awesome.

Thanks guys.. this song hits deep and reminds me of my grandfather. I watched him for about an hour in a half in the ICU try and take his final breaths. He was a fucking fighter man, but he was declared brain dead. I watched him die the day before his 71st birthday. This one hurts, love and miss you grandad...

Mark Morales is definitely one of the more talented singers I've heard in a long time. His band Sons Of Texas are a favorite and his range from cleans like this to young Philip Anselmo type screams and everything in between are what I take note of. Ballad, metal, doom, etc, definitely makes it all look easy dammit lol.

Lyrics: We were reckless for a season now Restless with a reason I can't tell I can't tell If we were victims of the vices or Addicted to the crisis Live through hell Live through hell [Chorus] And when you came up for a breath I knew there wasn't nothing left to do but choose And everything I lost wasn't much compared to all I had to, I had to lose [Verse 2] We laid with the dead and dying Told them all we were just trying To be alive To be alive Closed our eyes and hoped that we could leave The lives we didn't want to lead behind Behind [Chorus] And when you came up for a breath I knew there wasn't nothing left to do but choose And everything I lost wasn't much compared to all I had to lose [Bridge] Watch the colors fade away Bleached out by the sun Left hope for another day Prayed it would never come [Chorus] And when you came up for a breath I knew there wasn't nothing left to do but choose And everything I lost wasn't much compared to all I had to, I had to lose I had to lose I had to lose

I love this song - SO much, been listening to it daily since release. Evokes many emotions, HOWEVER; that double negative grates on me so much, “knew there wasn’t nothing left” when I since along, I change it to “I knew that there was nothing left” 😂
@EcsiTom3 жыл бұрын
I think the "wasn't" applies to the breath here, so "When you came up for a breath, I knew there wasn't. Nothing left to do but choose."

I don't know if it's because I'm in a crap mood right now or what, but for some reason, I can't figure out what the message is. 🤔 It feels like it just jumps into the chorus without having anything to do with the verse. Like I said, it could be me. I WANT to understand it. I just don't know what he's getting at. 🤷🏼😕
