First comment! Thank you Becky. You know this place much better than I do. Forgot about it for awhile, until visiting for the lighthouse movie to see Cape Arago. I wish I also got a big storm on this day but oh well, I have 2 babies and need to take what I can get at this point haha.

Oh very cool. I bet the biggest wave you have seen wasn't on a king tide?

Thank you. I am a bit of a stranger to this area compared to other coast spots. I found some things I really liked when doing the lighthouse movie. One beach in specific that I will not name!

Nice. Go during a storm and you will see even bigger waves. Pretty awesome.

Very nice. Thank you. I wish I had more time to document king tides. It could be interesting to see from anywhere on the coast.

Great explanation of King Tides! This was interesting to me having been lucky to be a Share Acres two years ago for a king tide. Too bad you didn’t have a storm to really kick those waves. Still you got some great shots! 👍 Thanks for sharing! 😀😀😀😀😀👍

Those were some great shots of the king tides! I also really enjoyed the background information! Never thought about this being a big source of erosion but makes sense. Nice Video Matt!

I got caught in some quicksand in the Yachat's river once, and had to swim farther out to get unstuck, and for a brief moment I felt the true 'pull' of the ocean and realized how futile it would be to fight against some of those tides.. Couldn't imagine being one of those poor souls who fall victim to sneaker waves.., usually while simply having a 'peaceful stroll down the beach'.. I was always cautious, but now I'm on full alert at the coast. Keep an eye on them waves.

Oh wow I didn't know that was a thing at our coast. I have always been a bit scared of the coast compared to other things so I go with caution.

The Doomsday Glacier in Antarctica is about to add a whole lot of thawed ice to the world's oceans. The high cliffs in this video look secure, but lower areas won't be, especially when huge waves come ashore.

I am sorry, sure would appreciate it if you would abstain from flying a drone in or near a state park! Very annoying! However, nice shots but the ocean splashes looked very tame compared to other videos I have seen.
@MattCookOregon
@MattCookOregon Жыл бұрын
I did not fly a drone. What makes you think I did? I have videos at other places with drone footage and follow every restriction there is.
