Nice. I didn't share specific location cause some of these ones are total gold mines every year. I want to branch out and learn other mushrooms at some point. Even our dry eastern side of the cascades gets some nice ones.

Thank you. A couple of the clips were from the coast here, but I was too busy managing babies that day. I haven't harvested that much from the coast, but I imagine its pretty good with that moisture.

Fun activity for a cool fall day! I really enjoy looking for mushrooms, but haven’t been harvesting … I appreciate learning more about these Golden Chanterelles… maybe I’ll go out looking for just this variety… I want to make sure we’re careful and don’t get any poisonous ones! If you come across rough skinned newts you are in mushroom country. ;) I frequented a region about an hour west of Lookingglass as a kid, and came across mushroom pickers often.

Yes newts for the mushrooms that need lots of moisture. I am just getting into the mushrooms on east side of cascades like a morel.

Morels are another edible Mushroom that is popular in Oregon and the best time to hunt for them is right after a fire.

Thanks! Definitely do some reading as this is just an intro. I said most mushrooms have deeper gills, but chanterelles have shallow forked ridges instead.

I second that - definitely do some reading, biting into a misidentified mushroom can be an Extremely unpleasant experience at best. Google that and you’ll know what I mean.

The forest in Oregon are so beautiful 🤩 river , water fall , the most famous in Oregon is hunting wild mushroom every year , king crab 🦀 fishing, wild vegetables 🥗,! A Asian people saving a lot of money 💰 they love hunting foods in the forest, fun , love ❤️, happy, enjoy and relaxing 😌!
