Thanks, think this is what was in our garden, it was about a metre long. The neighbors cat was grabbing it by the tail and it was trying to get away. It struck out a few times, but luckily for the cat it obviously did not connect. It was able to escape when we turned on the wipper snipper!

Good video. I live with tiger snakes - wonderful creatures. The figures I quote below are from aging records but it seems I am at odds with which are the most venomous snakes are. How dangerous a snake is depends not only on how venomous it is but also its habits. How venomous it is depends on both venom yield (how much it inoculates you with) and toxicity. In the following table the first figure is toxicity in mg/kg in mice (because of a lack of human volunteers) while the second is yield in mg per single milking Inland taipan 0.01 44 Coastal taipan 0.64 120 Black tiger snake 0.99 35 Eastern tiger snake 0.118 35 Western tiger snake 0.124 34 All tiger snakes have the ability to replenish venom VERY quickly and often strike multiple times. I know a few people bitten by black tiger snakes and all were struck 3 times.

Love your vid, but please can you tell me this....I live adjoining wet lands north of Sydney and have done for 50 years. We nearly always have a red belly black resident somewhere on our 2/3 acre bushland block each year. BUT in all these years I have never seen a tiger yet I would have thought this was their habitat. We have several ground level water features often where we see our RB's which we just step back and ignore. Would the RB's keep tigers away?? Ive been told RB's eat other snakes. Please can you advise

Reminds me a little of Steve Irwin, brash people manhandling dangerous natural creatures. Hopefully this gentleman didn't dangle a toddler a few feet from a crocodile. Freak accidents seem to have a habit of striking such people down. Not a fan.
