I have had my ebike for a few years now, they are brilliant for older people where the fitness is not quite what it was. Everyone wants to know the range on a charge but there are too many variables to put a figure on it. Of course the best part is that you can use all the cycle routes which you can't do on your motorcycle. Didn't see too many people around, perhaps it was a bit hot for them. Nice review Mark really enjoyed it.

The problem with these (and others is the price). I had anold mountain bike with v brakes and for a laugh I bought a 500w hub kit and banged it on. And it's quick. 22mph, with a throttle. And doing 22mph actually deters car drivers from overtaking you at any opportunity. I didn't bother with the cut off brake sensor or the pedal assist, just the throttle works fine. And the best of all is that I can carry a shed load of stuff on it..easily 20kg of various stuff that I couldn't do on a normal bike. £380quid for the conversion and about an hour and half to do.

If this is like other e-bikes, it probably takes a few rotations of the pedals before the motor kicks in which can make gaining the initial momentum tricky given the bikes weight, especially on an incline so can you use the "walk mode" you mention to give you an initial push off? I'm also in the UK so if I ordered one would receive the version with the throttle removed as standard to comply with UK law.

@@markpulling12 Thanks for your reply Mark but I don't think I asked the question very clearly. If I leave the throttle in the box, (to comply with UK laws), can I use the "walk mode" button on the handlebars to give me an initial push off up to walking speed at which point my pedalling will have caused the motor to kick in anyway? I just need to know there's something to help you get the heavy bike going initially on those first few rotations of the pedals before the motor kicks in by default.

The problem I have with all these random e-bikes is the price. $2K+ gets me a true used motorcycle (or new China bike) or a hell of a bicycle, instead of a generic bike that's kind of heavy with a hub motor and questionable uses - being neither that good of a bicycle or electric. I’m giving you a month off. Walk around in your pants and watch crap on the telly and get off your trolley.

Double take. A bicycle review is a bit different. I would perhaps spend another £500 for a known brand and larger wheels for off road riding. I converted a mountain bike using an electric kit. Credit to you for something different.

G'day Mark, you have gone over to the dark side, Electric Bike, the hair on the back of the neck are standing up and a pushbike to boot, in OZ know as a sweaty or a treadly, give me the thump, thump, thump of a petrol engine who cares if l ride in the smog or have trouble breathing, Cheers mate, the end is near, have a good day,Neil.
@markpulling122 жыл бұрын
Haha yes Neil an electric bike whatever next ...I really enjoyed it actually in the country side but yes can't beat the roar of a petrol engine 👌 cheers mark

@@markpulling12 thanks mate just a bit of fun, good thing about Australia, electric power vehicles aren't able to do the required distances and we are set to have petroleum products for a long time.
