He’s got to take his deep 3’s to succeed. That was true for Fred as well. And when that went away, he couldn’t be as effected at the rest of his offense.

hot take... he isn't fred because he comes in with much higher passing chops ... i honestly dont think he is similar at all play style wise

It’s not really a play style thing, it’s more so the two of them share a very similar background as undersized undrafted guards who were very productive

Markquis Nowell is himself and why compare with FVV? I wish Nowell play his game not the other. We need a good ball handler and will to share the ball and provide the assists on time and in place.
@yungdchung Жыл бұрын
You’re right, he is himself. I’m more so praising Nowell for overcoming the same pre-draft obstacles as VanVleet did. That’s where the main comparison is being drawn

$43 mil a season for a undersized guard who shot 39% from the field, was a defensive liability and was one of the worst clutch shooters last year. What is Houston thinking?
@yungdchung Жыл бұрын
Houston had to spend the cap space or else it’s dead money, and VanVleet was the best guy available
@venomousgamer4205 Жыл бұрын
Could they have not used that $43 mil to sign 2 free agents? I'm sure there's 2 FA that they could've signed that would be more effective offensively and defensively. I also don't think he was the best FA out there. His skills are declining and his stats are a result from playing with the same players for years and the team chemistry he had with Siakam,OG,Trent Jr and so. I think he's overrated and the Rockets have been fooled into thinking he's elite when he's not. He also didn't help any Raptor's players develop like Lowry did. Last year the Raptors lost some games because he didn't make the right play and tried to be the hero only to end up missing. He was one of the worst clutch shooters last year and Shroeder was one of the best. Fred will get targeted defensively and I don't see him helping them improve at all and I'm a Raptor's fan lol. He took the money and now he won't be making the playoffs for the next 3 years. Houston will soon see that they got fleeced and Vanvleet will experience alot of losses this upcoming season. Something that is inevitable.
@JohnDoe-230 Жыл бұрын
@@venomousgamer4205despite fred shooting 39% from the feild. Which isn't good. and probably the worst defensive season of his career. He was still a positive war/ box plus minus. And alot of the advanced metrics like him. So I do hope him leaving fixes some locker room stuff. Becasue him not being on the team in itself. by most advanced metrics is a decent loss. Scottie has some slack to pick up usage wise for sure.
