Heya Eggy. So, for me to get 3 aimed shots off (no trueshot) I have to do 4 Arcane Shots, then I do either Windburst or Marked, then I can do 3 Aimed shots if I am on the ball. I have 15% Haste

Yeah I'm noticing that you have to be almost perfect (well sort of) to hit the 4 aimed shots in the window. You may not get it every time, but with practice, you'll get it. I'm still having issues at times TBH. If you get right around 9% haste, that allows you to have more of another stat. Which in turn either raises crit, mastery or overall damage with vers.

LOL If I go any less then my 15% haste, then I will never be able to get the third Aimed shot in (under normal rotation). My DPS has gone down almost 80k this update

Well stick with the 15 then. Do what works for you. Are you using a dummy to test dps? Because our burst was lowered but the dps overall will be more uniform. Also MM don't really get rolling until under 25% health. You might keep that in mind.

What about the rotation after the initial starting rotation? I've been doing Windburst - 3 Aimed Shot - 4 Arcane Shot - Marked shot - 3 Aimed shot - 4 Arcane Shot etc.... I am also using Crows on cooldown

That's pretty much it. This is what I've been doing: Opening, then from there, crows on cd, and windburst would replace of the 3 aimed shots, which ever one would continue to keep the target vulnerable the longest (so if the 2nd aimed shot wouldn't hit the target while vulnerable, then put windburst there to keep it marked as vulnerable)., then you want to arcane shot or multi-shot until you get to around 105 focus. Then dump the focus with aimed shot.

Hey Eggy - I'm getting back into WoW - haven't been on since Pandaria. My main is a MM hunter and I appreciate the info. I'm starting the lvling process from 90 to 110 (I want to level him before the others as i enjoy him the most) - do you have a video on that process or do you have any info you can pass along? Do you think Blizzard will fix the hunter class by the time i reach 110 or I'm I just wasting my time with my hunter now? thanks

Hey dathcha30, let me be one of the first to welcome you back! And thanks for the comment. I'll be honest with you, I'm still having good results with my new hunter build, the link is in the description of this video or you could just go to my channel and find it, but I do think they will make some changes before Nighthold drops on Tuesday. Hunter's are a lot of fun and my hunter was the first character I ever made, so I really love them. If you want something that is strong and similar to hunters, Warlocks are doing very, very well.

I gotta say.. I like this rotation more than before. 9 percent haste softcap btw. And I like they buff us slightly now with nighthold. Really like that.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah that buff will help a little bit, that's for sure. They also stated that if hunters are still getting left behind, there may be more tweaks coming a couple weeks into Nighthold!

Im having a really hard time with my MM hunter ever since the patch when it come to dps plp have stated to switch to BM his name is Yingyangtwo - Bleeding Hollow do you have any tips other then now i realize my haste should be at 17% and not 21%

Thanks for the comment. BM is actually doing worse than MM, so I probably wouldn't make that switch. If you're having issues with this build, try this other one I have kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2icYmOBfatqf6s people are saying it's much easier to execute.

I've mained my mm hunter since WoL. I'm really considering rerolling. Don't like BM and definitely don't want a Melee hunter. What should I do lol stick with it or reroll. HELP

shuld you not be able to do it the old way by change out barrage with murder crows as long you get the hardcore haste cap with shuld be arund 21,5 % to get the 3 aimshoot in the 6 sec Windows.. ??

Hey Eggy, you have really impressed me with your constant replies. Just saying :) So far, it seems the De Facto rotation now is Pot, Crows, Windburst, Trueshoot, 3-4 aimshot, 4-5 arcaneshot, Marked shot, 4-5 arcane shot, 2-3 aimshot, 4-5 arcaneshot, Windburst, 3 aimshot, 4-5 arcaneshot, marked shot, 2-3 aimshot, 4-5 arcane shot, Windburst etc.... Since 7.1.5, I've lost 40k-60k DPS single. I haven't even looked at doing AOE yet.

So why wouldn't you open with per-pot, Aimed Shot, crows, windburst, Arcane shotx3 then Trueshot and Aimed shot x4? your Aimed shot does 100% more damage on mobs you havnt hit yet ...And Arcane shots are instant so why waste True shot on casting 3 Arcane shots? Cast True shot after you cast your 3 Arcane shots squeeze another Aimed shot in...

Thanks for the comment. I see what you're saying. I've been going back and forth on different combinations on openings all day. The main reason I chose to do True shot when I did was because it automatically gives you a vulnerable proc for marked shot. But as for the aimed shot first, you're probably right. Lead with that to get the extra 100% damage. From there, I'd then go crow wind burst, ect. I'll try out the arcane shots before the True Shot and see how it goes. If it can proc the marked shot for me, definitely.

I won't lie, I'm having issues not using marked shot as soon as it procs. Since I have the ring, I had been doing that up to this point.

I would have to disagree with this. Using aimed shot first (this whole rotation) slows down your entire rotation since our focus decreased to 120. If it was still 150, I would aim shot first before the pull into wind burst and trueshot. No one would wait to use their cooldowns. Your use of trueshot would allow the same amount of aimed shots in that period because you're dumping max focus into aimed shots first. You would lose out on the 40% increase damage from windburst when you pop trueshot before windburst hits.

Hi :) nice tutorial. other ppl on my guild said "take eagletalon battlegear set" so okay i take it on raid. i was on top in dps. now with thisiam at 8 of 15 >.> and now. i back to my old gear and "damn. still i have low dps" I do not know what I'm doing wrong

Hey Penthercy, thanks for the comment. Yeah I'm seeing that now too. They've changed it since this morning. Looks like they have aimed to just stop at the final 3 aimed shots. There was a small window of 3 seconds or so to get other shots off within the Trueshot uptime. I'll change the video to reflect that. Thank you!

this patch was a nerf for MM hunter. I lost 50-60,000dps in heroic EN compared to last week boss fights. Blizzard destroyed the spec completely.

btw it is literally never worth it to open with aimed shot, the damage buff is a useless addition because without vulnerable up it literally just equalizer. it needs to be changed to "the first aimed shot on a new target" instead of a undamaged target.

Bin6wash 76 yes, but that's what arcane shot is for. Plus they just buffed both. 8 focus for every arcane shot and 33% increased damage on sidewinders

So you now don't have to spam arcane shot nearly as much. 2 arcane shots give you what 3 did just last week. Less arcane shots means more time using aimed shot.

They give us traps and blow our DPS to shit. I have a DH that is my new main. Atleast I can DPS with him. Maybe it will get better with Nighthold gear. Just a brutal blow to MM hunters.

Just so everyone is aware... Even if you execute this new rotation correctly, you will be way behind your other raid members in dps. 7.1.5 was a large nerf to our single target damage and a huge nerf to our aoe damage. No competitive guild should be including hunters in their raids in 7.1.5

Thanks for the comment. I'll still end up being one of the higher dps in my guild, but it's not like we're a mythic guild or anything like that. But I agree, our overall damage is down significantly. I'm hoping blizzard will have a few tweaks this week before Nighthold comes out next week.
