Don't do like he did and blow the leaves around. Use the machine first. He wasted time doing the leaf-blowing first. Time is money! Leaf-blowers scatter leaves everywhere. If their leaves go into a neighbor's yard, the neighbor can complain.
@Marksmisfitworld
@Marksmisfitworld 5 жыл бұрын
@@hankbridges5055 so you would take an hour with the mower to suck up all of the leaves then spend a half hour blowing the leaves out of everything scattering them all over the yard and spend another hour sucking up the leaves. Where are you saving time? Take a half hour blowing the leaves into the yard and and hour with the mower to suck up the leaves.

no more tank top at the intro. we had a good wind storm in our area which knocked off a lot of the leaves which was a shame because the fall colors were really going strong. Its a shame that customers don't have the consideration to call when they want to switch or cancel service. I'm sure that's an uncomfortable call to make but at least it would give you a chance to find out what the reason is. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to have my lawn cut and sometimes think about that call. I'm pretty happy with my lawn care company and any issues I had were addressed. Only real issue was leaving gates open and having my wife and I chasing our dogs through the neighborhood. Its kind of a mutual venture IMO between us certain things we take care of like picking up after the dogs and not having things laying all over the place. I guess its called consideration. Nice job Mark and I look forward to seeing you in the tank top with snow in the background at some point :-) looking thin, good job on that also.

I know this is from 2018 but I would suggest mowing it 1st while they r spread out, less back & forth with the caster wheels spinning 360°. Then get the perimeter spreading it out. That vacuum system u have on it made it look real nice tho, still looks good!.
@Marksmisfitworld
@Marksmisfitworld 2 жыл бұрын
Doesn't matter how it is done, still takes the same time to clean up
@ScottWhalen81
@ScottWhalen81 2 жыл бұрын
@@Marksmisfitworldlol somewhere out of the 17 years that suggestion ended up being way faster for me, sry may not for u.. I don't have to slow down for piled-ups, adding stress on the equipment trying to mulch in bulk. However, the 360° turn of the caster wheels rips up the lawn adding to the repetitive back/forth which puts a beatdown on the lawn... I'm not saying the job u did was "good, bad, fast, slow", each to their own. It was just a public suggestion that worked from the person who suggested it, sry if it doesn't work for u. Out of many years, it has shaved hrs off, less wear/tear to equipment, & less damage to the property. With the leaves spread out, I can mow/mulch as if I'm "just mowing". The only pile-up I have to worry about is the perimeter blown onto the lawn that I didn't want to pile in yet but I got a little wonder leaf vacuum to take care of that. That vacuum was WORTH it lol.

Have the Cheetah with 60" deck just wandering with that dump setup does everything drop out or are there times you have to get off to help clean it out.
@Marksmisfitworld
@Marksmisfitworld 3 жыл бұрын
There is a sweeper bar inside to clean it out. The hose does have a tendency to plug up with wet heavy leaves so you do have to get off of the mower once in a while to unplug the hose. I increased the drive pulley from a 4 1/2” to a 5 1/2” which helped reduce the hose plugging up.

Hey Mark, I have your same setup as you and was wondering about your deck baffle setup. It doesn’t appear you experience blow out. Do you have your front deck baffle set at the lowest setting or do you just have your deck set lower? It’s hard to tell from your video.
@Marksmisfitworld
@Marksmisfitworld 5 жыл бұрын
Kevin McMahon it is both. The baffle is as low as it can go and the deck is at 2 1/2 inches. It scalps some spots in lawns if I am not careful.

That bagger works well. I have a non powered one on my Hustler and am surprised how well it works. Kicks the leaves out to the right a bit so kind of have to go clockwise. I might try the gators with it but I think it will loose its oomph. Does it work well on paved areas?

What kind of blades do you run when doing leaves? I run mulching blades and it works phenomenal to spread up the debris and I have no issues at all sucking up small pieces, has as much suction if not more than high lift blades. Saves a bunch of room in the truck too!

Hey Mark , how do you charge for leaf clean up ? Is a multiple of what you charge to mow or what ? I don't have much call for it where Im at but places in my area do. Just wondering if I should try picking up some fall work in those areas, probably 20 miles from where I live . Would appreciate some incite. Ive been mowing full time for two years , running a 52" Tiger Cat and a 36" Vride . Trying to figure if it woiuld be worth my time to venture into leaf clean up.
@Marksmisfitworld
@Marksmisfitworld 5 жыл бұрын
The yard depends on the amount of leaves from the trees on the ground. Light leaf cover double. The more leaves the more charge, I try to be around $100 per hour for leaf cleanup and removal. It is harder work but it can pay out pretty big. Start with some smaller yards to get an idea of how long it takes. It wont take you long to get the hang of it. How do you like the 36" Vride? We are thinking about getting one.
@wh8085

@@Marksmisfitworld Thanks for sharing the info , it really helps . I like my Vride. It was my first commercial mower. I bought it for getting into back yards in Feb 2017 before I even had one account. The Vride II 's are out now and they are a little more compact with a shorter front and the standing platform between the driver wheels . I think you will be happy with one ! They still have the velocity deck and mow sweet. I've mowed a few bigger lots with mine and it really makes my ankle hurt after a couple hours in one setting but the younger guys don't seem to have that trouble. I'm 64 , guess it's catching up to me ! LOL. One thing Be sure and get the FX600V 19 hp instead of the 15hp version. Thanks again !

If I do get one this next season it will be with the bigger motor. Rather have to much horsepower than not enough. I will be using the mower on all of my city yards that are on the smaller size. I just see it as making things faster to get done earlier.

If you are dumping on site without hauling anything away and want to dump everything as fast as possible I would be looking at a Scag Clamshell. Run gator blades when bagging, it will help cut down the size of the leaves and have less plug ups in the hose.
