Can we please hear more? I would sincerely appreciate if, you could play some different genres? Classical, jazz, rock? I would love hear what they sound like, when played heavily.

Someone please, help, I must know! What is he doing at 1:35 where he grabs the flare of the body and holds the head to get the harmonic note to bend? It's sick but I've never seen that before. The only thing I can think of is he's absorbing the vibrations through the wood or something with as much surface area as his hands can cover. He's not shaking the guitar so it's not like that trick

Thanks Brett! He is gently pushing the neck forward with his left hand, and bending the note down slightly.. :)

The pickup itself is over $2000 the bass sounds good not $2000 good.

Thank you Kevin. Like with any musical instrument, the only way to really judge how 'good' an instrument is, you'd need to play it, rather than only listen through a video. That said, your first reaction regarding the price is very understandable. The Valvebucker is indeed pricey when compared to conventional pickups. Such a comparison is a little faulty, though, as the Valvebucker is so different. To be exact, it is not just a pickup, but a rather complex system, including the magnetic pickup capsule, handwired circuit, NOS tubes, floor pedal and so on. The Valvebucker is made in extremely limited production, and the manufacturing cost is similar with studio tube microphones. And when comparing the Valvebucker in this (studio technology) context, I hope you can agree with me that the price is in fact reasonable.

@@ruokangas That's fair any thoughts about releasing a version with the cheaper nanotube?
@ruokangas2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinjackson7539 Thanks. Nanotube as a term is a little misleading, because technically speaking it is a nanofet with a tubular structure. With these 'nanotubes' it is possible to amplify an audio signal with an extremely linear quality - but this is not really what we've been after. We've been looking for a more musically pleasing result, which is not quite possible in the same way with fets, not even nanofets - or nanotubes, if you will.

@@kevinjackson7539 so, does that mean, that a valvebucker bass is what? $5000? $6000? I would sincerely like to know, so I can start saving for one. With flatwounds please! I wonder what it would sound like with the ernie ball cobalt core flatwound strings
@kevinjackson75392 жыл бұрын
@@SH-gr1bc they're high quality but very expensive and you can't walk into a Guitar Center to try one out.
