Followed this exactly. My plugs died at 6866 miles. Heavy misfire while riding and die at idle. Now runs smooth.

Thanks for making this! With your helpful videos, I've managed to perform all of my own R7 maintenance. I replaced my first plugs at 8k miles (15 months ago), and had to do a lot of guessing as there were no tutorials for R7 back then. Just replaced my ~ 16k plugs and your video helped it go smoothly. I just couldn't reach/re-attach those damn breather hoses, so ended up removing the right side tank cover. Thanks again and keep the great videos coming! (brake pads next? 😉)

Really appreciate this video. I got lots of helping from your video this earlier year when I got my new r7 for changing wind screen and r6 mirror. Not to mention oil exchange. Haha. Now it's time to replace air filter and spark plugs. There was no any information about that especially spark plugs replacement on the internet till you posted it. It's really helpful. Thank you. Nice job on the tutorial. Made it straight forward. Going to have to change my plugs on my Ninja 400 soon enough. Kind of laughing at some of the comments about it being a pain in the ass. Like you, I would rather work on my bikes myself. The spark plugs are not too bad just time consuming. The right tools are a big help too. Thats why I really like these videos, shows that you can do a lot of it yourself and buying tools is part of the deal. Great job on the video again! Your editing was awesome on this as well! The highlighting and pointing out where the push plugs and bolts were was extremely helpful!

Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing all these maintenance videos. These are extremely helpful. Did you try to lotería the torque on the oil screw? I remember there were some concerns on that. On another topic it would be great watch another video on how to lubricate the clutch, gear, etc thanks again! Love your videos

Glad it was helpful, I haven’t seen anything different on the drain bolt torque, but I’m sticking with 17ish. I did just add one with a magnet and hole for tie wire for the track which will be the best route imo. I’m be putting some more maintenance vids together especially with it being winter now it’s to cold for most to ride

Nice, man it was such a big difference. I honesty was scared to the R7 back to the track without doing inserts to fix the forks but the oil change was huge and im not planning on doing inserts until i reach the limits of them. Good luck on the fork job and let me know what you think
@Meowmii4023

Changed the oil, such a dramatic difference. I was also scared when taking my R7 to the track and actually crashed due to the suspension. My mechanic friend I was with believed I wasn't fast enough to dial it in from default,. I hit the bump on T1 Road Atlanta causing it to low side shortly after. I now have a designated track bike now. The front forks caused such a see-saw motion at lean I felt when I dialed it in at another track and never felt confident on it. After this oil change I am sure that I will get almost the same confidence as my track bike. If this hadn't sorted out my issue, I was going to sell it and buy a zx4rr.@@ScoutsOut

Hello Scout, I’ve noticed just recently that my r7, the iddle goes to high towards 3000 rpm when turning on .. then proceeds at normal iddle speed around 1250/1300, is it normal? Since before I’d would go straight to normal and stay like that
@ScoutsOut
@ScoutsOut 10 ай бұрын
When the bike is cold it will high idle for a min or so. I just checked mine and it going to 2k for 30-45 sec before resuming normal idle and that is normal. As for 3k, that seems a little high but it could have to do with elevation or temps possibly

why does he put grease on all the plugs?
@ScoutsOut
@ScoutsOut 6 ай бұрын
It’s dielectric grease and it keeps water out, metal from corrosion, keeps the seals in the plugs from getting brittle from heat. Long term great idea on all vehicle electrical connections…. Sry for needing out lol

@@ScoutsOut I used to love working on 2 stk dirt bikes so easy you can do everything then the 4stk dirt bikes made it way more complicated and street bikes they just don’t make sense it’s like they don’t expect anyone to work on them with the chassis body panels set up just make it a few big pieces and a few strong mounting points, pop the big pieces off full access but no 😂 I guess race body pieces might be better but I’ve never had them to know. 🤙🏼
