Korhogo, Côte d'Ivoire - From the very northwestern corner of Côte d'Ivoire, we’re continuing our journey through the country in Korhogo, known for its unique food and especially high quality meat. Today we’ve been invited to a local home to cook some of the local Senufo tribe food and eat some of the best grilled mutton you’ll ever have.
Senufo tribe - Mo and I headed to a local home to cook a few different dishes including Joro, which is a unique green sauce made from pounded peanuts and bean vine leaves. It was definitely green tasting and quite a healthy dish. We also had another few dishes including bambara groundnuts which were some of the best beans I’ve ever had.
Choukouya - One of the greatest of all West African street foods is grilled meat and I’m talking about choukouya, this one made with grilled mutton. Korhogo, Côte d'Ivoire is known throughout the country for raising some of the best quality and tasting meat, and I can assure you of this. They had a huge logfire going and they were roasting fresh mutton over the fire. When you order, they slice all the meat off the bone, and serve it with onions, fresh chilies, and kankankan seasoning.
Boloye Dance of the Panther - Finally we went to see one of the original Black Panther dances. It was one of the most fascinating displays of acrobatics, and chanting songs I’ve ever heard!
Another absolutely incredible day in Côte d'Ivoire! A huge thank you to my friend Mo Soumahoro from Belle Côte d’Ivoire ( / bellecotedivoire ) for arranging my trip and setting up everything.

I sincerely appreciate the Senufos for their excellent representation. 😍The Bambara beans were the best beans I've ever tasted! oh and the green sauce! Tchonron, so healthy! 🥰 The Bolloye (Panther-Dance) was beyond amazing. 🥳 Some Hip hop historians have given credit to this tribe for break-dancing, they are the originators. Sad that in the USA most of our meats taste much diffrent than naturally fed Meats. Too much steriods in out grocery store meat you have to go in debt to get good Meats and greens from whole foods. Or grow your own. LOL..Good eating.

They have indeed and it's wonderful to see them get their props.Western KZbinrs should take note. That's how to do a documentary. Courtesy rather than condescension and genuine appreciation for the hospitality of others. Mark didn't go to the poshest places but he did not deliberately seek out the worst spots to push a narrative of negativity. I think people are learning. And KZbinrs like Mark will always be welcomed warmly while others like Drew (who ate food off a vendor and put it back! Ewwww!) and the dude with the red headband will be rejected outright.

Thank you very much, appreciate your support. I was fine, just a combination of lack of sleep, dust and filming by fires with a lot of smoke over the days.

Same. I'm from East Africa & a lot of the ingredients they use over there are vastly different to what we have over here. I love spicy food & that's one thing that the West Africans don't shy away from, spice.

Firstly, I hope you get better soon, might be the dust. I love your outfit today, great colour and design. I had great hope to visit Ghana but I have to say your trip to Ivory Coast has given me a new destination. I do wish you were served dishes with fresh locust beans as to the dried snd ground ones, personally I think the taste is different. Like tinned and fresh vegetables. That chant was touching. Your wife pounding 😁 she's cooked for you in Africa 🙌🏽 ✨

@@MarkWiens The privilege I feel in being recipient of your time is great!! (I don't know whether to play the lottery or to start a business) Am so glad you're fine! Please continue to take care of yourself in all these invaluable virtual experiences you bring us all. I read someone's comment stating your videos are documentaries, I thoroughly agree!! You are giving wisdom not only to different races but also to single race's with indifferences (ignorance) between them. May you be blessed for all that you do knowingly and unknowingly. (We want you to always remain healthy, if I may kindly say, please don't be hesitant in setting terms of health (hygiene) and safety most especially during eating. I was concerned for you when watching one of your videos, it is fine to share a bowl but it is not right to share bodily fluids. Forgot to say, the little girl snatching the 'Kaaba' fruit had me scared and giggling at the same time. ✨🌶️✨
