@@mdmandy If you knew anything, you would know from the restaurants name, what it actually means, to expand culture, as we can't keep living in the past, things are either evolving, or dissolving... So why wouldn't it be Danish culture? You don't think there was a culture before "Frikadeller" either?
@KimJakab5 жыл бұрын
I have lived in Sweden for 33 years and visited Denmark more than 50 times. My experience of the Danish people is that they are crazy and funny, almost always drunk, innovative designers, have high environmental consciousness, speak like they have put a hotdog horizontally in the throat, but after seeing these Copenhagen episodes I realise I have been away too long (8 years) from Denmark. Why I have visited Denmark so many times is thanks to cheaper liquors and that it's much more fun to be bored in Denmark than in Sweden :) I am really impressed of how Denmark can maintain its old life style, food traditions and at the same time keeping on being so innovative. Thanks Mark for sharing with us this psychedelic gourmet experience! We can all understand from this restaurant visit that I am right when I say "exactly all" Danes are locos, but luckily they spoke English and not Danish in this video! :) Danmark är ett dejligt land med smörrebröd och tår på tand!

For all that restaurant is amazing, you never once showed the same excitement or joy as you did when you were dining with families around the world who couldn't ever conceive of being able to afford to even step in the door of Alchemist. Your tour of Ghana for me was the very embodiment of this. And this is why you're so great...you are ultimately more interested in people and what food means to them than in just food itself.

I dunno about this Vlog. Awesomely GORGEOUS building with incredible different rooms in which to dine. The "presenters" of the food are very knowledgeable about explaining what the next little bite that Mark is gonna consume. None of it looks very good to me. And I betcha not to Mark either. He is VERY good about showing respect and being positive about where he is dining. But I have been watching Wiens' videos for some time now and MAN...I can really see when he is "over the moon" about a place. His reactions are usually priceless when he is really loving something he's eating. I'd say his reactions in this place...even after 5 hours.... was friendly but not enthusiastic. Plus, at the end he was saying he was really tired and wanted to go to bed. So, three things: I bet it would cost a couple of thousand at least, to eat there; and two, I betcha Mark didn't have to pay; and three, betcha he never goes back, either. That's what I think.

Amazing! I've never seen anything like that in my life! One of the best experiences/videos I've seen in all of your travels! And you eat everything everywhere. What a vision that man has.

So many ignorant and negative comments. I have worked at a Michelin restaurant, and eaten at many. I haven't been to Alchemist, although I do know the place, in fact the guy serving them at the final stage of the video is a good friend and old college. First of all. I dare you to leave hungry. Eating for 5 hours straight fills you up, no matter the portion sizes. The feeling of being full, is not instantaneously because of this most people over eat in general. The feeling of being full comes later at a point after you have finished. These kind of courses are specificity designed so that you never feel too full. In other words, it's the intent of the chef for you not to feel too full. If you were feeling full and tired 2 hours into the experience, what would be the point of the last three hours. You don't visit Alchemist, or really ANY fine dining restaurant in order to feel full. If that was the goal, you might as well eat a loaf of bread and be done with it. You go out to eat, to experience something new. Like going to the cinema, or going on a vacation. Not everybody likes to travel or watch films, but the point is never to please everybody. Although having an experience like a visit to Alchemist is amazing. And if you are at all interested in food and wine, a restaurant like Alchemist would impress you. But even if your not interested in taste, I would still recommend seeking out an experience like this.Being at a well designed restaurant with world class service, can sometimes be even better than the food that is served. Although if all you want is to end your hunger, this might not be a place for you. But then why are you even watching this channel.

WOW! Alchemist isn't just a restaurant or just a gathering of people eating; it's a complete visual, eating and life experience! I would volunteer to eat all the food seen on this vlog happily (definitely including the hot dogs)!😁
