in the WWF in late 1998 they had such a talented roster that wrestlers like Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart didn't have much to do. They were thrown together as a random tag team due to both pretending to be the Blue Blazer. They were managed by Stone Cold's wife Debra. The team quickly won the tag titles although they didn't have a name. I will let you guys decide what it should be. Debra often distracted their opponents to give her team the advantage. There were actually some good matches in here against the likes of DX and X-Pac and Kane. I enjoyed this team team run on Ring Of The Hawk season 5!

It's so sad that Owen died, imagine what he could have achieved. Also the chemistry between Owen and Sean Waltham was incredible. I remember their king of the ring match in 1994. It's only 5 min long, but it's a banger

Man, '98, I woulda been 15. It feels so long ago because Owen's still wrestling, but the footage and some of the wrestlers feel like 5 minutes ago. Kid me hated Jeff Jarrett since pre-WWF days, but kid me didn't fully get it. Once I got older, especially watching things in retrospect, I grew to genuinely appreciate him as a worker.

I actually liked this team. And yes the over the limit 99’ event is so tragic. You can actually see Jarrett crying when he has to cut a promo immediately after seeing Owen fall to the ring. I understand that they were on ppv and had an obligation to the paying fans to finish the show but man it’s heart wrenching seeing his real life friends forced to just keep going after they see it.

After going through some old Ring Of The Hawk videos, I'll wager something you might be interested in, and a company you've never tackled before on this channel: Tommy Dreamer's CZW run. According to Cagematch, he had 8 matches in CZW. The first one was before he got signed to WWE in 2001 in the aftermath of ECW's death, and the other 7 after his release from WWE and subsequent run with TNA over the years. Some of his matches in CZW are hard to find and maybe 1 or 2 have been uploaded fully on KZbin.

In hindsight, Vince could have just allowed Owen to leave and go with his brother, Bret to WCW. At this time of the Attitude Era with Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker and Triple H swamping for the World title, there was no way in hell they were going to add Owen to any of that at that time, if ever. I think they were just going to midcard him throughout his contract. Making him the Blue Blazer again, didn’t seem like it was going to involve any big angles either.
