Jimmy Page is overrated. It's obvious that he's a session guitarist. He is very sloppy live. And I love Led Zeppelin but Page groupies love to say he just plays each song uniquely in every performance. He was just too high and sloppy
@alexhighfield18913 жыл бұрын
@@patriciasuder1416 "Jimmy Page is overrated and it's obvious he's a session musician. He is very sloppy live." Well now, madam, you show absolute ignorance if not only because, by definition, a session musician is one who does not make mistakes, he is hired because of his ability to improvise according to the producer's requirements. And mistakes, or sloppiness in your words, cost money and you would not be hired again. In short you haven't a clue what you are talking about. Now then, if you persist in your assertions of his 'sloppiness', please tell me where in this performance he is sloppy and the musical errors he makes. It is grossly unfair to label a musician in such a derogatory manner and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Page was high as kite in the late 70’s and did get a bit sloppy during live performances. That doesn’t mean that he wasn’t the greatest of all time. This performance here proves it! These 2 men single handed lay inspired a whole decade of rock music, all attempting to capture the essence of Page and Plant. Some came close, it no one captured the title from them. In fact no one has touched them since.

I still listen to Led Zeppelin in 2021. However I listen to all the music that the band Led Zeppelin recorded when John Bonham was still alive. John Bonham was the best drummer of all time and John Paul Jones didn't just play the bass. He was an amazing musician and played all sorts of instruments. Robert Plant was a great singer. But the person responsible for this band and their awesome sound was from the legendary Jimmy Page. He is and was one of the greatest guitarist of all time! Like I said that's why I still listen to their music today!

@@zoso1980zeppelin doesn’t need anything. Nor is this zeppelin, its page plant. Sounds like you are criticizing him for not sounding exactly like zeppelin rhythm section? They are zeppelin tribute bands some are pretty good. Listen to that if you want to recreate the past. No, page and plant did the right thing. They didn’t just try to recreate zeppelin which would be impossible anyway even if they were all still alive. Instead of being a lesser versions of their past selves, they created something new. No, Lee is a fantastic drummer. wtf is a one note drummer you do realize drums are a RHYTHMIC instrument? And what is wrong with a marching band snare? Again, you are obviously hung up on zeppelin nostalgia and upset they didn’t recreate the r and b based rhythm section. This was the 90s, that kind of funk sound was outdated, they went for a more modern sound. You don’t give any coherent reason just stacking opinion after opinion. Your taste just sounds limited ultimately. Technically, there is nothing wrong with Lee. Lee is enthusiastic, high energy, dynamic, joyful sounding, locked into time . The opposite of one note if that’s a metaphor…. He plays each passage different, lots of improvisation and things going on.

Robert Plant is apparently hesitant to attempt to recreate what zep did in the 1970s, out of a fear for it sucking. He sites this as one of the main reasons he won't be part of a reunion. Too many high notes for an older man to hit. But that is nonsense. This tour showed us it's very possible for them to still breath life into their old songs. They updated songs like Thank You, giving them a middle eastern flair. They could do all their acoustic songs. They don't have to play everything. They don't have to push theirselves to do the impossible. It doesn't have to be the same as it was in the 1970s. It could actually be better in some ways.

The title of the second song is when I was a child...When the world was young is another song on the album.

+Sheila Evans: No I'm not mistaken. The song they performed that night was When I Was a Child. Check again. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGqbe6F-j8SSpMk kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWPamWBmZZJlaKs By the way my comment was to help people who like this song find the right track in case they want to check or buy the studio version. It does help to have the right title...
