You’re gonna want to clear a little moat around the trunk, so the mulch doesn’t touch it directly. Otherwise it can stay damp too long and rot the young tree.
@justinkimmerle5272

Also want to watch out for competing leaders every year (the most central and vertical new growth on the top). You want to only have one, otherwise it will split the energy into two trunks. It’s Important to check every spring, but wait till the new growth is a nice green color or around the start of June.

You All Selflessly Make the World Go Round, while Making it Look Easy. Thank You All.”

watching Marling progress as not only a baitmaker but also a cinematographer has been awesome, it's like a youtube account that doesnt have all the answers right away, but learning with Marling is much more amusing and educational than watching a seasoned pro.

I'll tell you what, I've been watching your videos ever since around the time you built the fishing reel and I've got to say your bait making as of late is on just a whole nother level. Not saying that you're older stuff wasn't any good because, I've always found myself wow'd at the end of all of your videos, but The stuff you've done over the past year and a half 2 years is amazing, especially your painting. I've never been much commenter, but I really wanted to let you know how cool it's been to see you improve as a bait maker. Glad I've been along for the ride, thank you for the many hours of entertainment.

from my understanding the best way to catch gar is actually a piece of unwound rope so that it looks like a lure skirt. they get their teeth tangled up in the loose threads and can't get loose easily.

Yeah if you are going to keep them, If they break your line with it they will die a slow painful death, by starving. I dont mind handling them some people dont like to touch the mouth area because they are unpredictable and take for ever to die. I got bit by a 4 foot Gar took my whole nail off, the guys fishing next to me had cut its head off and my dumbass picked up like any drunk curious person would to check them cool teeth out and Bamm, his head had been cut for like 10 min so I thought I was safe.
