Yes, we did need to see the theories of his death, repeatedly. According to his manner of death, a single dagger wound, to his forehead, wouldn’t have been possible. The dagger would have bounced off, or slid across his forehead. But, if this an assassination, then a heavier dagger/spike, could have been the weapon. Context is important.

Could he have been actually stabbed in the eye itself? There is just a very thin, easily pierced bone in back of the eye-a knife could have gone right into the brain

As this showed, depends on where the dagger hit. If it went through the orbital socket, it would not have bounced off.

Marlowe had worked with Poley before and had an acquaintance, and Poley knew Skeres through Walsingham and previous work, and Skeres was friends/scam-artists together with Frizer. So that could be why that was the group that met together. A group of not quite friends/colleagues met casually when all weren't otherwise busy.

Interesting to hear the opinions, but did we really have to see those same bits of acting over and over and over again?

Ever heard the old saw, “Beggars can’t be choosers”? I guess we aren’t paying them enough to hire stage actors for long term jobs. I guess if you want Broadway you need to be paying Broadway prices. For some reason you take offense at your gift horse.

I think they might have done better to simply omit the showing of the same scene. Personally, however, I wasn't really bothered by the way it was edited. I think we're fortunate to be able to view these on YT for free. @@kathrynwitte3398

It was slightly different acting over and over again and it was effective. Can you think of nothing positive to say?

Honestly in this case the actor actually looks like Marlow.. so can't complain. 😊🎉 P.s. Honestly @kathryn is right.. you get what you pay.. and the actors are actually doing a great job of whatever subject videos they are part of.. this is my third Banijay video .. after Amy Dudley death and JTR & Prince Albert connection ..

This is the second one of these I’ve watched part way through. No more. Definitely too much repetition of the acting scenes and the interviews.

There's another theory that actually, Marlowe did not "influenced" Shakespeare, but wrote all the works that got Shakespeare's signature, as Marlowe was his "ghost writer". In a plot orchestrated by the Queen herself, who didn't want to lose Marlowe, her best agent which saved her live many times, and also didn't want to lose her favorite poet Walter Raleigh, the Queen kept both of them, without a scratch on her Authority. She couldn't have pardoned them for the crime of "lèse-majesté", as being the Supreme Authority of Anglican Church, she was obliged to condemn both to death for the crime of heresy. So, after his "death", Marlowe continue to serve the Queen as undercover agent in the Continent (while writing his plays to be presented by Shakespeare), and Raleigh kept his reputation.

@chickenspadage And all who replied. Firstly , chicken was referring to the repetition of certain scenes in the documentary not using the same actors. This series was on commercial television. Obviously this has been uploaded, very well may i add, after the removal of the commercial breaks . Need i say more?

The Earl of Surrey might object to you crediting Marlowe with the creation of English blank verse. He was using it before Marlowe was born.

Aunque este tipo de programas son interesantes porque sacan a la luz elementos desconocidos, es obvio que terminan por concluir que tras todo esto, sólo permanece la misma duda que había antes de oír las opiniones de los expertos.

Even without the 'drunken brawl' theory, carelessness in judgement, or claiming it to be 'an accident' what would have been the cause / why would anyone have wanted Marlowe dead? Who would benefit MOST from his death and WHY?

If Marlowe faked his own death as some of the people in the video say, he would have to stop writing plays and poems. If he didn't stop doing this, Marlowe would quickly be spotted due to his peculiar style even if he used another name. Everyone knows that Shakespeare was an illiterate actor. Would Marlowe have become the true writer of the plays attributed to Shakespeare? If that were the case, we would be faced with the greatest secret in the entire history of English literature. Is it possible to see Marlow's style in Shakespeare's works?
@bob7975
@bob7975 5 ай бұрын
No. Shakespeare's works have been subjected to extensive textual analysis, which revealed that all the work attributed to Shakespeare was written by one person, and that one person was NOT Marlowe. Everyone does NOT know Shakespeare was illiterate. That is a supposition. He had an illegible signature (like many of the presumably literate people reading this, including myself) and a village school education, but that is hardly the same thing as illiteracy. If the best the Anti-Stratfordians can do is unproven assumptions about the quality of rural small-town education on the basis of a very, very small and very informal sampling, then it all comes down to intellectual snobbery in pursuit of a pet theory.

@@bob7975from 1190 Stratford upon Avon became a town and had a charter to hold markets. It was not a village. Its grammar school, like all the others, taught Latin as well as other subjects. Shakespeare would have been far more literate than most school leavers today. I went to a grammar school in the 1960s. Latin was still a core subject then.

@@bob7975The "extensive textual analysis" could have had wrong results. There's a lot of interests involved in keeping Shakespeare as the author of the plays attributed to him.
