For those who are interested or too young to remember, "Ob-la-di ob-la-da" was originally by The Beatles, written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon. ❤

Saw them in Glasgow couple of days ago as part of the 60's Gold tour. They were brilliant and I'd love to see them do a full show. Great to meet the band afterwards and get photos and a CD signed. They have won me over as a fan. And there were about 2000 at that gig. Thanks for posting the video.

The front man covering Dean Ford music gives a good try. But sometimes it is best to just leave it alone. He doesn't compare to Dean and the real emotions he put into his music. Sorry if anyone disagrees with me. It's like with the bee gee's music. Without Maurice and Robin it just doesn't sound right!!!

Carry on Marmalade's legacy. Even though there are no original members, kudos for carrying on the Marmalade legacy. For those of us who remember the original Marmalade, we carry on and honor Marmalade by Keeping their memory alive. Rest in peace Dean Ford. 🙏❤️🎶

@davidhughes1224 Жыл бұрын
@@johnandersonjjr I can assure you the bass is plugged in, the Mark Bass 2x10 combo can be seen at various points in the vid. There is also a DI link from there into the sound desk. I've been doing the sound at that venue for the Marmalade Christmas gigs for several years so I could bore you with more details if you want!

The sound is OK. As long as you close your eyes..sorry it doesn't work..they look like old grandads pretending to be 19 again. Last time I saw these they were young with long hair. Pretty sad to witness

Isn’t it good that they can still go out and enjoy their work, make an excellent sound and entertain a lot of people. Perhaps you are a frustrated musician who never ‘made’ it and a little jealous?
@voicevoice2053 Жыл бұрын
@@colingreen9638 yes i agree it's good they can. But you can't understand that image is also an ingredient in music? Especially if successful. It simply doesn't work for me. They look like grandad's. Let's face it they were only a mainsteam pop group that lasted 5 minutes and hardly accredited musicians. They won't be remembered beyond a generation in the real world. Purely a nostalgic trip today for oldies who want to feel 19 again "play me a memory" If you can't handle an individual's opinion then that says a lot about you not me

Depends where you're counting from Margo. Current front man Sandy Newman joined Marmalade in 1975 following the departure of Dean Ford and at that point Marmalade was still a 'thing' even though other band members had come and gone in years prior to that. Sure, they're knocking on a bit (apart from Sandy's son, John James Newman!) but they still enjoy great popularity on the nostalgia circuit 🙂
@a95569 Жыл бұрын
They may well not be the originals but they're still 50 times more accomplished at what they do than you and all of these other smart-ass haters.
@colingreen9638 Жыл бұрын
Bit ageist I think. You better send a message to the Rolling Sones then. Much older! Marmalade are a top band still able to play live and would leave some so called ‘stars’ floundering in their wake.
