"Reflections Of My Life" is without doubt in my opinion one of the greatest pops songs ever written.

It was interesting when a much older Dean Ford rerecorded Reflections of My Life prior to his passing. It was a little sad to see him sing it later in life as if he was living out his life in the song. He did an amazing job with his rerecording. It was as if he was saying goodbye.

I agree totally. It was always a great song, and was very much a case of right song right time with its Vietnam connections; then coming across Dean Ford's rerecording, along with his daughter I recall, is brilliant on yet more levels. Can't help but be moved to your soul. If you haven't listened to it, FIND IT and spend a quiet 5 mins reflecting.

Reading Dean's story, I realized how much success, but also the lack of it, led someone to a not so desired path, which was alcoholism. But, fortunately, before he passed away, people who liked him were able to provide a brief but rich return to showbiz. This way, we can remember and be moved by this great artist. See you one day, Dean Ford. Thank you very much for existing.

Imagine if the Beach Boys, in say--1971--decided they were going to exclusively play their newer progressive songs live, and refused to play "Fun, Fun. Fun". I think they, too, were contemplating doing the same thing Marmalade did at the time.

I was brought up living next to these guys when they started. I still remember their Ford transit van with the Marmalade logo parked in Lethamhill Road. I was a few years younger than them but still remember Junior Cambell playing acoustic left handed and giving me some of my first guitar lessons.

Reflections of some memories, the future and the past. Of times to come, of things I;ve done the first things and the last....You know how oft I wonder what some people really mean. With eyes and ears, and thoughts and tears, of loved ones and a dream. I wonder what tomorrow brings, will our love still be true? But through the years I'll hide my fears and keep on loving you! Reflections of some memories, some make me cry they do. Will the future bring this song I sing, this song called "loving you" ? I wrote that 50 years ago in 1974 not ever hearing of Marmalade. Thank you Tim, my brother for putting these lyrics to a wonderful melody. Those were good times. And now the reflections of my life... some make me cry they do........

When the narrator mentioned that the lads had called themselves The Gaylord’s… I had a snorting coffee moment down my nose and all over my t shirt ….. it’s been 15 mins since then and I’m still pissing myself laughing … you couldn’t make that up , I’m aware that word became a kinda insult in later years and is now frowned upon and I’d never use it these days … but it doesn’t mean it’s not still funny as fk 😅 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
