great video! just another important thing, make sure to turn up the samples in the bake project Also set the map to 16 bit if you plan to texture in substance painter because substance painter doesn't like 8 bit maps (triplanar mapping makes everything a pixel grid )

Thank you so much for these tutorials! I feel so left behind trying to learn the new industry standards without getting another adobe subscription. much appreciated. Hope to see more workflows to teach new users!

I downloaded the free trial for Marmoset toolbag 5 two days ago, and I had no idea of what I was doing, and you made this video. Thx a lot, I'm trying to learn as much software as I can before starting to work as a stagist in a small videogame company in Rome. Love everything you do man, keep up the good work❤

Amazing tutorial as always in this channel, thanks a lot Abe. I can’t wait to test this in my future projects bc some times Substance’s bake is a real pain in the a….s. Keep the amazing content and happy winter 😅.

Excelent! i love the "Exclude when ignoring groups" No more exploded distribution of objects to avoid the normal map being projected onto the pieces that are closest. I don't know if this option is new in Marmoset version 5, I never used it in version 4. Thanks Abe for sharing your knowledge.

As always, amazing video! I don't know if is just my problem but when i do the baking process on marmoset, when I have to texture the 3d asset in Substance the program behaves like if I didn't do the baking stage even if I manually dragged each map in the correct spot (for example, I usually use substance's default smart material "machinery" to see if the baking went all as planned but I ends up with a broken result). Any idea on why that could happen? I can also send some pictures on discord if I didn't explain it very well. Thank you in advance 💕

Where can I find the steam where you modeled the high poly? More specifically, I wanted to know how you modeled in all the details on it and the wood above it

want a lesson on texturing in marmoset.
@santinopalmieri88029 күн бұрын
Hi abe, ive noticed in alot of your tutorial you will bevel edges on your 3d models so that they hold a good shape when you smooth them. Why do you do this? Do you export the mesh once you have smoothed it all? Is this till the low poly? Sorry this might be a simple thing but ive never know why

Hmm, that is quite crazy what you can do with this. Would you say it renders Substance painter obsolete? The bakes are way more efficient and you can also texture in it. What are the advantages of Substance painter?
@AbeLeal3D11 күн бұрын
@@Metaldude1945 I wouldn't say it makes it obsolete but it is definitely a very valid option. I still think substance has an edge in texturing but marmoset is getting really close.
