Well done, excellent choice of music too. Your video has really captured the 'drama' of Marmotte. (I remember coming down the Glandon - riding like a scared cat at 80+ kph)

Well done! Do you also have times for the downhill? I think that I can do the climbs, but I am very scared and have no technique going down, so I wonder if I can do it.

Just had a look on Strava - really only 2 big downhill sections - Glandon - 40km/h Avg / 58.3 max - 17:18mins over 11kms Galibier (I stopped a little bit into the descent to put a Gillet on to keep out the cold and a bit of food so 6min stop brings the average speed down) 33km/h avg 62.6km/h Max over 16kms - 24mins moving / 30mins total (so about 40km/h avg moving speed) I wasn't the quickest down and a lot of people slower than me. You are going to spend 90% of the time going uphill so I wouldn't worry too much about the downhill. Take it easy don't over brake, brake before the corners (not in them) it's a lot more fun than going uphill!

@@OneOfThoseGuys Thanks for reply and your times. That sounds like I can do it as well. So I should really consider it for next year : )

Is there not a small cat 4 climb during the descent from the Lauteret ? Also, this route is mad! Well done for finishing this absolute beast !
@OneOfThoseGuys4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if it’s a Cat 4 - there’s a little bump on the way down - but coming off Galibier it’s over 40km downhill (mostly) to the base of Alpe D’Huez, after going up Galibier any little bump is quickly forgotten - till you get punished on Alpe D’Huez ( and you had just started to enjoy yourself flying along for 40kms)
