You guys are moving really well, which I think is what morozzo wants you to be doing. I have come around to the idea the assaulti are a string of plays brought together to show what can be done with a weapon set, not the end all be all of the weapon. I think it is far more important to rip the assaulti apart for the individual actions in them than spend time memorizing the assault.

Thank you! We are definitely ripping it apart and taking individual sections as well. We're already using parts of it in sparring at times. However, I think it's still illuminating to perform the whole thing in sequence as well, especially with a partner like this. Some parts also seem best strung together, like the 4th into 5th here, though the 5th could also be done after the inside spear parry. But yeah I agree, in the end the parts on their own are more useful.

Where do you guys get the shafts for your spears? I haven't been able to find ones that are longer than 6 feet.

@gozer87 check Baird Brothers. I don't go above 7 because shipping gets stupid after that, and honestly that's plenty long anyhow.
