Along with my buddy Al, I am taking a 4.5 Mile Circular Walk around the famous Biggin Hill Airport in Kent. This is part of the ‘Leaves Green Circular Walk’ as we explore some of the history of the Airport and its wartime connections. One of the first Airports in the World, it was formerly a Royal Air Force station ‘RAF Biggin Hill’ and a small enclave on the Airport still retains that designation. Biggin Hill is best known for its role during The Battle of Britain in the Second World War when it served as one of the principal Fighter Bases protecting London and the South East of England from attack by German Luftwaffe Bombers.

Hi Mark, thanks for uploading the video, wondered where the llamas are located? Thanks
@MarqEnglish

The Llamas were just before coming out of a pathway into a housing estate just north of the Airport. I can't recall the name of the Street.

Great video guys, my stomping ground, in fact you walked right past my house and field just before you got to the road!! The buildings that are on west camp, I think Al said they are to be demolished is not 100% correct. They are privately owned and are slowing be restorated externally to look in keeping with the RAF style from the era. Another great fact is that ground to air communication was developed at biggin!! Thanks guys!!

Makes me rather homesick. All those lovely walks through the countryside. People have only been living in Regina since 1882. That is where I live in Canada. (Quite a change from Purley). Before that it was just prairie. So it’s mostly huge farms once you get outside the city. Some old really pretty farmyards but not many country walks.

What you called the museum behind the gate guardians, was and still is St Georges Chapel of remembrance ( 8.02). The long coloured building was originally the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre (7.51). Opposite Vulcan close you can see the back end of the Station Medical Centre,(8.39), with the decontamination centre entrance next door is the old naafi. Before the coloured building was the Station Headquarters (7.43) Hope that clarifies a couple of points. I was stationed there 1968-69 and 1970-71.
