Pilgrim's progress is the only book I have read that uses the bible and again, places human character and nature in a scene, showing the need of the gospel, Jesus, God and the truth of scripture.

Screwtape Letters seemed to do a decent job of that, as well.

God's authority was delegated upon the man. Man, who becomes a husband has a huge responsibility, regardless of whether he acknowledges God or not, regardless of how he uses that authority, and that responsibility will be judged by Jesus Christ who is the head of all things. And only when he comes under the authority of Jesus Christ can he ever hope to be a good husband in the way God intended and designed for him to be. And only when he comes under the authority of Jesus Christ will he ever be delivered from his own sin and sinfulness and all its eternal consequences. So Paul writes for a man to love his wife as Christ Jesus loved the church (assembly of believers) and gave Himself for it. One cannot love his wife as he ought without a deeper love for Jesus Christ. Men love your wives as Jesus loved you and be faithful to her till death separates you one from the other. But love Jesus first and foremost, always. If you do this you will be honoured by the Father.
