Proposing in a public place is not problematic since: A MAN SHOULD BE READY FOR ANYTHING. Men should get over any type of embarrassment after the age of 18 seriously. Also most of these guys are all desperate who can't "take the hit" because they are very poor seducers, they got stuck on that woman and not they act like it's the end of the world it's not. In the next 45 years (rest of their lifetime on average) there will exist 40 BILLION women. They have a lot of options, they're just oblivious to them.

Lmao thats such a stupid statement. Men should get over embarrassment at 18? HAHAH WHAT?! You speak as if on your 18th birthday, a man suddenly looses his ability to feel emotions that would then make him feel embarrassed? Do you have any idea how the human brain works? Also why do men have to stop feeling embarrassed once their an adult? That's incredibly sexist. You can't generalise the men in this video either, because you have no idea how strongly they felt towards their partner, what they are like in their romantic lives etc all of which would influence why and how they propse... This comment was so dumb i had to call you out on it

@76JStucki6 жыл бұрын
Pro tip, guys--a surprise proposal out of the blue might sound romantic, but getting married is a big deal, and if you haven't talked about it with the girl, she might freak out, and rightly so. But even more than that, never, never, NEVER, put her in the position of making the biggest decision of her life on TV in front of tons of people. It's inconsiderate, presumptuous, and it leads to public humiliation for all involved. Don't do it. If you want to marry the girl, TALK TO HER. You don't have to disclose when and where and how you're going to propose, but if you're going to be married, you need to be on the same page. True for the proposal and for the rest of your lives together.
@lulalula14836 жыл бұрын
Beautifully said. I agree 100%. But there is one huge thing that bothers me a lot and that is " together for the rest of our lives". Who can guarantee that any marriage, or anything in the world, will and can last for the rest of one's life? That is an empty and cheesy phrase. Nothing is for sure except the fact that the only person you will live for the rest of your life with is you with yourself. That is actually the only thing that is carved in stone.

I actually think anyone who proposes in public DESERVES to get turned down. It's incredibly manipulative. It's like "she won't say no to me in front of all these people". It's pressuring her to say yes. Plus it's so invasive, in what should be a private romantic moment, not a freaking theatrical production. I guess I'm weird but I would just say NO. A lot of the people in the comments are right - there are multiple conversations that need to happen before you get to a proposal to avoid feeling humiliated in front of a crowd. Marriage absolutely needs to be discussed before any sort of proposal. You can’t spring that on people out of the blue. Make sure you’re on the same page about where you want your relationship to go. There are a lot of things people may want to talk about or experience before feeling ready to get engaged. It’s also beneficial to talk about what kind of proposal you want/your significant other wants long before that day comes. Some people may want a public proposal, and that’s okay. Some don’t. Ask the person you want to propose to a while ahead of time what they want, or if you would be the person getting proposed to, speak up and say something about your preferences. I made it extremely clear to my husband on multiple occasions that I did not want to be proposed to in public, so he was respectful and didn’t propose in public. Granted, there will always be some people who have a change of heart when the question is finally “popped,” but a lot of these public letdowns in the videos could definitely have been prevented. I wish these people the best of luck in the future and hope they get their happy endings.

She didn't run away immediately, not like the girls in the video, but she kept saying "no, no, no, don't do this". He kept trying to give her a ring but she wouldn't take it. She broke up with him later that evening, in private, telling him she could never forgive him for pressuring and humiliating her in public, in front of all those people. When I talked with her days later, she told me she'd never even told him she loved him, but he'd thought he could bring her around with the proposal. She thought what he'd done was sadly misguided and not at all romantic being in front of all those people. She'd been very very embarrassed.

hatchling88 well obviously that's your friends problem I mean like the girl said she never told him that she loved him but tbh in that situation I would've just said yes instead of running away since that's just embarrassing for the both of us..Then after all of that is finished I'll just tell him in private that it's not gonna work out. Though honestly If I was a guy I'll ask a good friend of hers to see how she'll like the idea of that (but not spoiling it)

Yeung Joey - but if you say yes and then change your mind later, everyone is going to be super upset with you. They wont see it as if you were trying to spare him public humiliation, they'll see it as you being deceptive. I guess it doesn't matter in the long run though, because if a girl rejects a proposal publicly she's going to receive negative attention either way. I can't tell you how many times I've turned down guys only to have people tell me that I'm being picky and stuck-up and cruel because I should just "give him a chance" since he put himself out there.

I'd like to believe in most cases, wanting to get married is already a mutual feeling before one partner proposes, it's just a matter of when it happens and the couple is ready for the commitment. Two people who've been together long enough have discussed their marriage plans already and how they hope their partner might propose. Hopefully the only surprise is when it happens.

Can we NOT normalize public proposals anymore please? Its such an immature and unrealistic progression into a marriage that it needs to stop. Most married couples usually talk about it before they put a ring on. None of this one knee down and open the box bs. Sheesh, my Fiance and I just bought each other rings and off we went to plan our marriage vacation and life. No public proposal. No seen. Just priorities and adulting.
@astrodog04435 ай бұрын
personally i think that proposing is very sweet but i can see how it can be very difficult in a situation where you haven’t talked about it and that’s usually where people end up calling off engagements or end up marrying the wrong person 💀 i would still loved to be proposed to but i agree with you and think the public proposals are cheesy, unrealistic, and otherwise embarrassing maybe a private moment on the beach or any other private moments or family but NOT in public PLEASE 😭

I'm grateful that my boyfriend didn't want to make a scene when he proposed! He went into a park and kept looking behind us to make sure no one was around (It made me feel like someone was following us! Ha ha) We're getting married next month ^_^ About 2 months after he proposed I asked him if he was a girl and a dude did something like this, what would he do. He told me "I would say yes so I wouldn't embarrass him, and when we got away from everyone then I'd tell him the truth!" I thought that was interesting... ha ha
@moriahthompson94047 жыл бұрын
Jay Mills Exactly what I'd do. You don't want to scar a guy for life or even just make him embarrassed like that, so you say yes first then tell him privately how you really feel. Those close to you will eventually find out, but nothing like rejecting him in front of a huge crowd of strangers.

When you propose in public in front of a crowd you aren't being romantic, you are forcing her to either give you the answer you want or look like the bad guy. Proposing in front of a crowd makes it about you, which means you just don't get women yet and aren't ready for marriage.

Sure, if that is the case. Often times it seems more about putting someone on the spot so they cant say no. It's not proposing in public that's the problem and that's where people like you are mistaken. The problem isn't proposing in public, the problem is proposing at the wrong time. It's not proposing itself that should be the surprise but WHEN you propose. What I mean by this, is you should already know she will say yes before you do it. Most couples will have already talked about possibly getting married after being together a while, so by that point you should already know the answer. People don't propose in public because they want to force an answer they do it because, yes, it is actually romantic (when done right). People just forget to make sure it's actually going to be a yes first before doing it, hence this video.

Proposing is supposed to be a very special, once in a lifetime thing, by not thinking it through and asking her in a crowded mall after eating greasy mall food court fast food tells me he's going to take the marriage/relationship just as seriously. It's not a good sign, to me. Personally I would rather be asked in private and I have the feeling some women said no because they felt pressured and uncomfortable by the crowds, but that's just me. If you're going to make it public, don't ask in a stupid manner/place, or don't get married at all ... why do people even get married anymore?

Okay, to be fair the first woman didn't so much turn him down as actually got her wish that the floor would just open up and swallow her.
@KacieJoe6 жыл бұрын
If I remember right the first couple actually did get married though. So I don’t know why that one was in here.

A proposal should be between YOU and HER. Why would you ask everyone to look at you and tell them. Pretty sure if you just asked her in public and other people watched it'd be pretty obvious to them already lol

Or, if they're 100% sure, do it in public. Mine was at a major event. Totally amazing.

What a horrible prank to pull on someone. That really messes with someone's emotions, man. It's messed up..

I would want a proposal where pizza was involved but no mall lol
@eXebeno6 жыл бұрын
at first i thought the woman was behind the prank but now that i think about it, it probably was the man behind the prank. if that even was a prank. but tbh it looked real to me

Don't worry, baby's bounce back. One time a lady had her baby in the toilet, on a moving train. Baby was accidently flushed out straight through to railroad tracks. Survived, because that's what they do.
