I agree with Cody’s sentiment but what I’d say is create a safe space for myself and my partner. I don’t even want to influence and the reason being is, you can’t control or even influence the other person and get a positive outcome. How do you do that? Honesty and a genuine attempt to understand yourself, your partner and how your relationship dynamic affects your family by holding yourself and your partner accountable. Challenge your intentions and theirs and communicate past the barriers in how that works.

Nathan and Cody awesome job. When Nathan said lots of people are feeling like they don’t have any more yes left. That’s me. When Cody said his wife emotionally drained him. That’s my husband. He said no to couples workshop. I’m saying Yes to solo workshop. I will save up my money and have a great weekend learning about myself. Thank you Marriage Helper.

Don't you think you deserve better than a cheater who left you for someone else? That's the one thing i won't tolerate. My wife has wanted a divorce for a while. I have given her absolutely everything and she talks like I've done nothing ever. Now she suddenly says she's in love with her childhood best friend who himself is married and says she wont tell him but now I am having trouble telling her im done. But I know I have to leave. There's no point. Cheating even just emotional cheating is something in my opinion you can't come back from
@tonyc.7957Ай бұрын
@@MediumDSpeaksYou CAN come back from it and these people talk about thousands of examples that have better marriages after an affair has happened. I wholeheartedly think it’s possible. If I may offer a solution to you. Be more humble. You weren’t perfect, and if your wife was open emotionally it means there WAS something missing in your marriage. Sometimes it’s within the unfaithful spouse but your wife wasn’t always a cheater, and doesn’t always have to be.

My husband has been having an affair since September 2022. Last year he made feeble attempts to want our marriage but went back to the affair partner! We are now waiting for the last part of our divorce to take place in July. It’s not something I want but his actions don’t show he wants to fight for me or our marriage. He seems to unhappy and miserable about the situation. I’m trying with the PIES but feel time is running out. Do I ask him if this is what he truly wants?
@ElimEx14 ай бұрын
He won't know. The affair is like dopamine addiction. He needs to work on himself to get to the bottom of why he allowed himself to cheat. Yes, your marriage was over before he even cheated. He was miserable for sure. We all are before we do this. But the only thing you can control is yourself. Move on and maybe he'll come around. But know this. Even if he decided to work on the marriage, he has YEARS of inner work to do before he can even contemplate working on a marriage. So you'll be on standy for YEARS and YEARS. Find some way to be happy.
