Raging alcoholics and drug addicts leave a wake of victims.
@Mike-pv5jd
@Mike-pv5jd 5 күн бұрын
Raging alcoholics and drug addicts are results of even worse victimizers almost always. Most people if you treat them decent, good or great, then they do the same to you. Mess with people enough and they get upset and mess with you back. Mix in enough harassment to get people angry when sober, drunk or high and you're the source of a chain of stupid events and it can come back to haunt you.

What EVH and AVH did to Michael Anthony is right up there with what Coverdale did to Sykes. In my book, worse, because of the history, contribution, & longtime success VH had. Anthony was family. EVH went to his grave without ever apologizing or trying to reconcile with Anthony. Think about that. What did Anthony ever do to EVH? Nothing, except give him a lifetime of loyalty and hard work.

Rudy Sarzo quote : What were Randy’s main influences? His influences were late-’60s, early-’70s English rock guitar players. He didn’t have any R&B influence or anything, so it’s totally English. And classical music because of his schooling. His mother had a lot to do with that, teaching him and influencing him with classical music. So by the time he got to England, he was not like a typical American guitar player who had had the influence of R&B music and country music, because he’d never played that. Were there any particular players he admired? Yeah, let me tell you who they were. He really admired Gary Moore and Eddie Van Halen. Those were the top two guys he really, really admired.

Yeah, not so sure that claim....neither of those 2 guitarists Randy supposedly admired are English/British! Gary Moore was Irish and Ed was obviously American. So there's an obvious "contradiction" there. Also, I remember an old Randy Rhoades magazine interview where he claimed Jimi Hendrix as an influence another American. I know he had some British influence from Ritchie Blackmore, Page, Beck and Clapton etc.

Watching this video it becomes clear why an evh tribute concert never materializes. Too much bad memories for some of his peers.

its your typical rock star profile, rise to fame, fall then heavy drug use, almost dies, cleans up...extreme fame is a curse.

I sat front row for the 2004 reunion show in Buffalo, NY. What a sad show for Ed. He looked very odd and his sound and playing was way off. Mikey gave me a pick, though, such a class act. I do understand Eddie deciding that the songwriters should only receive songwriting credits, that makes sense. I just hate the way he did it.

Thank you Lisa. It just really saddened me to see people trashing EVH. In my opinion, the poor guy probably felt unloved. That's why he turned to drugs. Because they'll do exactly what they're supposed to and never let you down. And the reason he was a prick to everyone, is more then likely he thought that people were always trying to take advantage of him especially those who were closest to his heart. To quote a line from of all things "Natural Born Kilers" ( Love kills the Demon ) unfortunately for Eddie, I think unconditional love is what was missing in his life. I just wish that people would remember Eddie Van Halen, for all the joy he brought us and let him rest in peace. 🙏

Nice hit piece. Tons of people telling wonderful things about EvH, so let's dig up some stories that make him look plain evil.

I don't Believe Eddie Van Halen was a bad guy but it's just that's what addiction does to people.

Well if that is true, Most human beings know when they've wronged somebody high or drunk. And most people apologize the next day or whenever they get in contact with that person . Not Eddy or Alex. Now tell me what that says about them.

This is a much needed video. Edward was one of the greatest guitar players in music history. He truly changed the game. And sure, he was a "nice guy" a humble guy in so many ways. He was also a raging alcoholic who destroyed many things. The way he, Alex AND Sammy treated Dave was despicable. Dave was made out to be the bad guy. He wasn't. Ed was. So was Alex.

A friend of mine worked for Limp Bizkit when this happened, and Eddie showed up with a crowbar and an Uzi. After that, we called him Uzi Van Halen. lol

True, but without Dave those first albums wouldn't have been the masterpieces they were. it took all of them together to make that sound.

True. I don't thank VH would've made it if not for Dave's high energy showmanship, lyrics, singing and flamboyance and witty interviews. Ed was more shy and laid back early on. Dave was a great self promoter of the band! And was the mouth of VH and spokesman for VH! Infact there likely NEVER would've been a VH if not for Dave! It was Dave's suggestion that they name the band Van Halen!!! They were going under Mammoth previously. Dave was a high energy motivator and the face of the band! Dave was the "kick-in-the-ass" that was needed to get them to get shit done! He made them hIt the BIG TIME!

BTW, I liked the Sammy era of VH as well! Sammy was the Re-start of VH after Roth left. Sammy took over as the bands new LifeCoach and bringing more positive energy and inspiration back into the band. But unfortunately Eds and Alex's bullshit again tainted something Good they had going again! The drugs and the greed was too strong and destroyed anything good left...as it Always Does!

@@robvoylesHow do you know that? Sammy was the one who turned the band into a #1 band. They had zero #1 albums or songs before Sammy. Imagine the original band with Sammy from the start.

It would've been funny to include the story of when Eddie met Kurt Cobain, supposedly Kurt was really cold with him because he said something about Pat Smear looking like a Mexican, then when they were playing Kurt did all this deliberately inept tapping stuff on his solos.
