Most of the time they claim an actor is getting harassed or receiving death threats, I think it's just throwing a false narrative to generate controversy. The sad thing is that the interviewer is right. I remember comment sections discussing this when it happened. A lot of people agreed that he should be able to say it because he was given permission to use it in an educational capacity. But there were still plenty that think him saying it no matter the context makes him racist. Some still think that way.
@ahabicherАй бұрын
@@bryanwoods3373yea, if the reporter said it he'd probably lose his job... not at once, because of the permission. But later on they would hesitate to let him do interviews, then let him go, and he'd not get another media job. He was right to refuse.
@stevecole90099Ай бұрын
@@bryanwoods3373 The thought that he needed permission to be able to say it is just as wrong as people thinking he is racist for using it no matter the context. Free speech cannot exist if you need permission to use certain words. Words only have the power you give them, and I think that is what Jackson was trying to show in that interview. Someone saying that word in that context doesn't effect him and doesn't make the interviewer racist or hateful. The interviewer could have absolutely used it in that context but he can just as easily use other words in the same context to be just as racist and hateful, it wouldn't make him any less racist or hateful just because he didn't use that ONE word. The funniest thing about that interview is how terrified that interviewer was of that word and the idea of using it in any type of context and people still want to claim white privilege exists.

People that keep acting like they're oppressed need to knock it off and grow up.

If someone is in a house fire, you don't say, "There's less house fires now, stop being a victim and save yourself." You address the problem because that's what morality is. "It's not Color, It's Culture" 💯🔥
@christopherclayton41727 күн бұрын
I understand that we have what is considered black culture. And white culture then is what? Isn't it more like an American culture? If some whites live in more of a black neighborhood are they expected to participate in a different culture? Is not urban and suburban culture different, no matter what the demographic? If you were black and living among whites all your life. You would act like everyone in that area acts. You would not be adopting the culture you are born into. It seems strange because it is considered untrendy to appropriate another person's culture. It would seem to me that this leans more heavily in the direction of black culture. Because as I have assumed white culture is just American culture. We would not dare accuse another American of appropriating Our shared culture. To be fair though I don't really care. I appreciate both cultures since a distinction has been made. Still I like people that I like. I don't know how much culture would play into that. Considering that I like people from all different backgrounds for different reasons. I appreciate people by what they say and do. Anyway here I am talking about it like a politician. I have bought Lil Wayne CDs. I could see why his business model is more of a Southern American appeal because he is a local icon. But I live up north and we all know his music. Music crosses culture anyway. It is a bridge. I almost guarantee that musicians sample off of other musicians that they like. I can't say I have never seen racism. I think that is kind of amazing. I will say that it was not at all pronounced. It was not the norm and it was universally frowned upon. I thought we were doing good myself compared to what I studied from the past. I was not trying to stir the pot. I was however easily manipulated into the argument by people baiting me constantly. No reason to rehash any of this nonsense. Do whatever you want. I don't see it being helpful to any of us to make this a focus. Though Biden was saying the biggest issue he thought we had in America just last year. I believe he said white supremacy.? I don't know about that. That seems far fetched considering everything that has been happening. It is the wrong focus coming from some people. I am probably guilty of it also. Luckily all anyone has to do is cut the shit. If you did it fine. That doesn't mean that it should haunt you to have concerns. I was told that the whole premise of my concern was shit. After that was explained to me. I seen the error of my ways. I am not scared to talk about it or not. No subject is off limits. I can see that most people don't think talking about it helps. Nor do they agree with the technique of manipulation that often accompanies the subject. Cool now we know. So many more important things to most people.

How much money do public school teachers bring in? Or nurses? It's not about equal pay. You have a handful of individuals who are financially valued at 100,000x the average person. The value of financial reimbursement is functionally subject to diminishing returns. Someone who's living on 45,000 a year, like first year teachers, is going to benefit significantly more from a 5k pay bump than someone with a $1m salary getting a 250k bump, despite being a smaller % increase. Maybe they can order new personalized plates for their overpriced vehicles. Maybe they can buy a new boat. The teacher, on the other hand, can afford to purchase materials they need to teach or... you know... food. Communism isn't a great system, but capitalism is a fucking horrid one. Keep punching down though. Keep pissing on those who struggle. Your masters certainly do.

Name one communist country that has equal pay, though... Communists can't even communism properly, so why should we even try this obviously bad idea that never works?

That sounds like something a deeply-stupid person would say.

@@SupachargedGaming Public School Teachers are a TERRIBLE example! Those are GOVERNMENT jobs, and the pay is theoretically decided by what the CITIZENS agree is a reasonable compensation for the job of educating our children... Rousey is talking about the UFC, where they negotiate a fee theoretically determined by how much revenue their events generate! And evidently she was very popular, and was paid accordingly. Compared to WNBA players who complain about low pay, but don't seem to realise it's because their EVENTS DON'T MAKE A PROFIT FOR ANYONE! WNBA players should be PAYING THE LEAGUE for the opportunity to play in games that are broadcast on TV even though nobody is watching them. If they're cute or talented, maybe somone will see them on TV and pay them to endorse something. I was a salesman, and if I didn't make a profit for my company then I got paid less, and then fired.

If you are referring to the man who wouldn't say the N word, that wasn't fair. Agree or not, but if he had said it, even with Jackson asking him, he would have been fired or at least heavily disciplined.

@@rssphllpsthat’s a fair point…definitely setting him up. It was a no-win situation for interviewer. But isn’t that the point SLJ was making? Why admonish Samuel L for saying it in a period film?

I really hate all this new wave of mass censorship on how people express themselves all the bleeping out of words just because someone finds them offensive is nuts

Got to love Don Lemonhead trying to fan the flames, trying to convert a conversation between two rich black guys, multi multi millionaires, into talking about blacks being oppressed in America today
@antispindr8613Ай бұрын
But, in America today, why would black celebrities feel the need to deflect talk away from black people being oppressed? For what is it about this issue that they dare not address?

This is funny, because for years I always thought it was hilarious when Dave Chappelle did white face. I don't understand why there's such resistance to blackface. Who cares? At the end of the day we shouldn't be angry at each other for poking fun at one another. I'm of all Irish descent, and I laugh when someone pokes fun at me for being a drunk short dick man. I've got friends that are Polish and I tease them for being stupid. The irony: my Polish friends are some of the smartest people I know. They know I'm not serious, and it's in good fun. Society needs to lighten up. Everyone walks around with giant virtue signaling rods jammed completely up their ass

American English often appears contradictory. The F-word is treated as a casual, everyday term, yet when broadcast publicly, it’s censored with repetitive beeps. Hearing five beeps in a sentence of twenty words not only disrupts the message but feels absurdly ironic. This paradox reflects a deeper cultural inconsistency, painting a picture of a society struggling with its own values.
