@@kubman10 I honestly agree. It is a battle to keep Him first, and live out what God has called each person. The original design of marriage according to His ways is for our good, yet because of sin in our lives, our sin prevents us from having that "perfect marriage". Instead, it is constant needing to ask for forgiveness and reconciliation, and looking to Christ's faithful love displayed on the cross to continually forgive His people. Christ's love for the church is the ultimate model of marriage (Ephesians 5), but when we lose sight of that, that is when marriage becomes destroyed.

@@RockstahRolln Well marriage is honorable, and good in the sight of God. The bible let's us know that it is better to marry than to burn/lust. If you love each other I believe you will do what is right concerning each other. I was young and had some issues I had to work through, that only God could help me with. Paul was more than patient and accepting of my issues. I was a mess and said things that were not always pleasing, and he never said a word. We were not in church at the time, but as time went along I started going to church and begin to change over time. They think I'm a softy now, but I'm not, I just know and do better. it is not the legacy I want to leave believe behind. Having kids is great, but being a grandmother is out of this world. I must be an example for them. Nothing came come between you if you are determined to not let it. That would depend on how deep your love and commitment is to your mate. If you cannot be loyal, why are you together? Be a free agent, not loose, but free from commitment. Whatever brought you together, should keep you together! Please be honest, be willing to work on your relationship. Paul was my better half as they say, but I am giving him a run for his money now. I am a better me! Don't forget we still have our flaws, but we don't argue, and we never fought, when I don't agree with him, I don't make a big deal out of it anymore. It's not that important, because we have bigger fish to fry. Life is full of craziness today. We are trying to survive, and I am not going to lie, with Paul being white, I have to use that to my advantage because of the world's prejudice. When buying a house, when buying a car, whatever it might be. He is more accepted. I'm sorry I got long winded.

Met my husband in Bible College where dating was not actually dating. HA. We had social hour and could only go on "dates" on Saturdays with another couple. So, with that said, we dated for a month. Broke up. That was January of 1988. Then at the end of May1989 we started dating again. It was my class graduation. After we returned home, mine was in NY and he lived near Pittsburgh, he came to visit me for a week at my parents' house. Then I went down to his parents' for a few days. From there we were supposed to go back to NY but instead we went to West Virginia and eloped!! We basically dated for less than 2 months before we got married. I'd still be married to him but I lost him 3 weeks before our 25th. We have 3 amazing children and now a grandchild. I miss him everyday. God Bless you Both!!!!

Such a cute couple! Enjoy married life! I fall In love with my husband more and more as God works through us. Tomorrow is our 8 year anniversary. We read and pray every night together. He is a semi truck driver so I only see him on the weekends so it’s important that we have that time together with God. God bless you both! Just some advice that has helped us.. Never go to bed upset. The more time passes the enemy gets more involved. Behind every thing you do for your spouse and others always asks yourself in that situation “what would Jesus do”! Would Jesus say that.... Would Jesus act like that. We also have a code word “Ephesians” meaning if we are fighting it’s getting out of hand (we have had some major attacks from the enemy) we say Ephesians. Then the we come together rethink things maybe seek help from our pastor but primarily just to come back together and stop our actions/words. So then we repent and have communion together. I THINK GOD FINALLY SENT ME MY HUSBANNNNNND!!!! It's a guy from my church, I finally noticed him a couple weeks ago when he preached about how to develop a relationship with God. I had never paid much attention to him before then. The way he spoke about God captivated me. After that I went home and began to pray each day about it. I prayed that God would allow him to approach me if he was the one. He still didn't approach me so I began to pray to God about whoever my future husband is. I prayed that my future husband would begin preparing for me and I prayed that God would make me a good wife. I told myself that no matter what I would not approach him first because I always tend to do that, I wanted to make sure that he was sent from God. He finally approached me tonight!!! Thank you Lord! I will patiently wait for God to bring us together!!!

Thank you for sharing. I too am amazed by how the Lord brought my husband and I together. The Lord told me last year that this man would be my husband and I was like "What?!?" He also gave us several confirmations, & we too thought maybe it was the flesh at first; but like Jamal, I had been saving myself for marriage for 5 yrs. We knew of each other before because we both stayed in the same town in California, but I ended up moving to Indiana and he got with someone & moved to Hawaii; but last year God sent him back from Hawaii (single) & moved me from Indiana & connected us and now we're married.

My parents married three months after meeting, had 4 children and stayed married their entire lives. I would not recommend that to just any couple, but when Jesus is at the root of your relationship as seems to be the case with you, you are above the things that might work against your success. I was looking at a trailer and was clicking to restart and it wasn't working... so I just clicked in the middle of the window and your video popped up. I wasn't planning to watch, but at the start, I thought you were stalling and getting ready to do something funny. Well I watched to the end, and what I thought was for funny turned into an awesome experience. Some of the best things in life are not fiction. Life is full of so many unique wonderful things, that remind us to not put God in a box. Yes we have some rules, but God is Sovereign and He can do Whatever He Wants to do, and allow Whatever He Wants to, so we just expect awesome things as we obediently serve Him. You were very bold and obedient to take the time to give your testimony. There were plenty of other things that you could have been doing, but it so rewarding that as God orders your steps, you just fall in line with no problem ... and not even realizing that this is an act of willful obedience. This conversation will bless many in ways that we can't imagine and many won't say anything, but know... its all Good! It's all God!
