Married and happy...great Single and happy...equally great rather be single and miserable than married and miserable tho.
@CheckYourPremises6 жыл бұрын
That's right! Because when you're married and miserable you are, basically, not only taking all the sh*t that comes your way, because of your own failures, but you are supposed to take all your stinky wife's sh*t loads. So, you become overloaded with sh*t and no sex!
@horatioredgreenblue21306 жыл бұрын
Correct, and it's far, far easier and more possible to change at any moment when your single - you are in charge of your ship. When you're married, you're probably stuck or have limited room for manouvre.

He's right on target! I'm a diesel mechanic and work around a lot of guys. It looks like when men are first married, they're happy, then when they hit their 30's they're so so, and in their 40's their miserable. There are exceptions of course but that's the trend. I chose to stay single about 15 years back and it's working out very well. Debt free, home is paid off, and without being too careful I generally only spend about 30% of my take home pay. The remaining 70% is totally extra. & I'm free

He's absolutely spot on. It's not that I'm anti-everything that goes along with marriage. HOWEVER, marriage literally doesn't benefit a man at all. Not even a little. In fact, it only adds a HUGE amount of pressure and stress. The wife now has no-fault divorce to back her up, and a personal stasi of the courts, police, divorce attorneys, etc. Also, once married, she knows she has you legally by the balls, so most of them let themselves go, stop doing the little things, stop being affectionate, and then it feels like you married a stranger. I like dating, hanging out, having sex, and even a family. However, as long as these laws are the way they are, they (women) just have too much leverage.

The problem with marriage is when people begin idealizing the institution and expect it to be an extension of courtship. If you're not willing to accept that it's a full time job with sex being relegated to the backburner, don't even think about getting married. Moreover, we're not emotionally static creatures, and this is more so the case than ever before - the odds of people growing apart are greater than people growing together....
@jasonmazzulla58937 жыл бұрын
Well said. Or written at least you have to wonder because for emotional needs and changes physical as well, that marriage in my opinion is almost counter-evolutionary... don't get me wrong I've been with a woman for over 10 years but as I have gotten older it's been easier to endure and I expect it's the same way with her

I honestly don't think you have to be a woman hater to see that marriage is bad for men. It's not just that they own you once you sign that contract, it's simply unnatural for a man to be controlled and limited in this way, and we know it! Hence phrases like "ball and chain". Yet many men still consider marriage right, and even natural. This has to be the greatest piece of mind control in human history. The idea that a young cap, with all possibilities at his feet should shackle himself to a creature with utterly different priorities and objectives, who will work tirelessly and with innate cunning to bend him to her will, It defies all logic!
@truthteller44427 жыл бұрын
liar liarliar Marriage is a good thing, in theory, but the reality of today's fast-paced and connected world is that it really isn't very feasible. I mean, if you want to truly be happy, that is. I understand it does work in some instances, but look at the failure rate. Is it really worth the risk, when men have everything to lose? No.

You have a point. Men are the ones who propose. In the beginning, the nagging is minimal and is considered a form of attention. But the longer people are married, the more nagging there is and, at a certain point, the nagging is the worst part of being married. I'm a guy, btw.

I think the real problem with marriage is that it shouldn't be seen as something you HAVE to do in life. Women see it that way, and then certain men, out of fear of losing the woman, marry them. People shouldn't get married for those reasons. People shouldn't be afraid of being single their whole lives. Then they can make the marriage decision rationally. Because basically for me, there are very few women I would want to marry, and I don't know if I'll ever meet the ones I would want to marry.

Story of my life, Bill! It's a sad thing when you can't talk to your closest friend on the phone for more than 10 min at a time because of some meddling woman, or have to arrange to hang out with your brothers while their wives/girlfriends/owners are at work or out of town. Or have to put up with the famous "Disappearing Friend" trick where your buddy hooks up with a chick and you don't hear from them anymore. None of my friends/brothers can say they've had to deal with that on my end, though.

@TheLordmep LOL! Yep. I used to get that a lot. These days when that whole marriage thing comes up I just inform the person I'm talking to that even if I wanted one, Men can't have families anymore. We can start them but since they can be taken away from us so easily and it happens so often, the families we start aren't really ours. Families are women and their children these days. Men are just occasional visitors and wallets.

@TheCashistrash I dont think the reason married men are happy is because they have children because if we are talking about the stereotypical male (as we are speaking about stereotypical women) then such a man wouldnt be nurturing/spending time with his kids. While men are out all day, working and going out having a blast with their buddies, women are at home taking care of kids, cooking, taking care of their husbands and the home. Without a wife he does all these things himself.

Myself I love men in general and understand what men truly desire and never worry if a man leaves for someone ele's it's no reflection of the women he's with and more about him and his journey and I will easily find another so it's not worth holding onto your husband like he's the last man alive who can be bothered with that. Watching your video I couldn't help wondering if you ever researched your friends deeply maybe they love being under the thumb and like the security of marriage or are just emotionally mature and ready for being dedicated to one women.

lol I don't think the act of marriage has anything to do with what Bill's talking about. Seriously most guys aren't stupid, they don't do what their wife tells them cuz they have to listen to their wife, they do it cuz they know it's good anyways, the wife usually just remind them and nag. It's like parents telling you to study, you wait till they nag about it but will do it eventually anyways cuz it's good for you. People with families usually have different priorities than those who don't.
