i feel like most podcasts really treat the “guest” as really a literal guest. this group is different, they have great chemistry and made me feel like she was a co host and i love it! she’s worth more than just a segment.
@grayskindablue2 жыл бұрын
@@disorientings I realise this was a year ago lol, but that’s a really good point. I hadn’t actively noticed the huge amount of podcasts where they repeatedly mention that the guest is a guest, and usually “joke” about the person being invited back or not/not being familiar with their set in some way/getting kicked off/owing them for getting to be there/etc., etc. Which is pretty weird to say to someone you don’t know super well in most cases. But they had a really nice vibe even before they started, and were really respectful of each other’s speaking time and just in general. Hadn’t heard of these guys previously but I quite liked it.
@disorientings2 жыл бұрын
@@grayskindablue haha love when an old random comment gets a reply! but exactly! that’s a perfect example! i think most radio/podcast hosts have created this culture when they have guests where they suddenly feel comfortable talking about how temporary that person is and it’s honestly quite weird lol. i’m also pretty unfamiliar with this show, but looking at their channel their entire format is just talking about the crazy experiences their guests have had so it makes sense that they’re so good with guests otherwise they’d be outta business lol

@@ellaova Hindsight is always 20/20. It’s often impossible to see the red flags when you’re in the midst of a relationship with a narcissist, sociopath or psychopath. They are masters at manipulation and know how to pull the wool over your eyes. First they gain your trust and affection by being the perfect partner, and only after they feel confident that they have trapped you, is when they begin to let their mask slip. They do things little by little so that it’s undetected and easy for them to explain away. Relationships turning abusive usually happen gradually, making it hard to connect the dots and notice the red flags or notice the changes. Then suddenly much later on, you find yourself in over your head unsure of how things got to this point. It’s easy to see the red flags when you’re not the one in the relationship, just like it’s easy for victims to see all the red flags they missed once they finally break free from their abuser, but when you’re in the thick of it, you don’t have a clear sense of reality, and abusers know this and rely on it.

My father was a psychopath. Not in a hyperbolic way. Like I’m talking no human emotions, liked to torture animals, major con-artist type of way. My mom and I have had therapists tell us we’re lucky to be alive. And I relate to pats of her story. It’s so easy to be on the outside and not understand how this can happen to someone? But you just don’t know until you’re in it already. Some of them are so good at hiding who they are, and they learn to fake and mimic emotions and mirror your personality until you think this person is perfect for me. And the abuse doesn’t start until later down the line, or until you’re already married or pregnant. They can also be very smart and charming like my father was. To the point where when we tried to reach out to people for help, no one believed us. And he was friends with tons of police, so the police laughed in our faces when we tried to get help. They isolate you from every single person in your life, and hijack your brain. It’s very hard to get away. We only escaped after he died in 2014. He did have actual cancer, but yes, they use the cancer to manipulate everyone around them. He had tons of scams going and people he got money from because of using cancer to garner sympathy and get money and gifts. Which he then used on drugs and girlfriends, even though he was married to my mom and she had no idea until the girlfriends showed up at the funeral.

I was in denial he had done it until I did research and saw the card had been used at a store around the corner from his house. I couldn’t sleep all night feeling unsafe. I left his place the next day and never saw him again, despite him calling, texting and begging to see me. Then he turned angry when he realized he couldn’t manipulate me. He threatened to tell my secrets to my father, threatened to come to my house. He never did it though because he was a coward. Most eye opening thing that has ever happened to me. Luckily, I found an amazing man and have been with him over three years and I am grateful everyday for him.

So the other day when I saw her face staring at me from a bookshelf at the Dollar Tree, I grabbed the book and read a bit and was amazed by what happened. I loved your interview but all I really wanted to know (and you didn’t ask ) is Milo allowed to see the child, at all? This is wild🤯 the whole thing was a lie. Sadly the red flags were there but she was in love. Edit: she’s lucky to be alive & they didn’t take the baby🥴. Hopefully he never finds her, because he will more than likely finish the job🥺 hopefully the baby doesn’t hold any traits of the father.

yea im definitely gonna buy or find an audiobook because I'm invested. it's 2022 and I actually didn't know it was this crazy. I just heard she went through some abusive relationship but I did not remember it being this much. I found out about it through some other channel talking about it.

I was the victim of a long con, too. I was set up to be isolated from my family and trafficked against my will via blackmail. It sounds unbelievable and insane, but the abuse was very covert. Gradually they tell you little by little what they are actually up to. Slowly, I pieced things together. I had a hunch about a month in he was a psychopath but people made me doubt myself. He 100% was into some bad shit and very much a psychopath.

This and Manon’s story really highlight the male gold digger/ grifters that are huge in LA! Women don’t look out for it as much as men because it’s not talked about enough. Beware ladies, they’re out there. Great hosts on this podcast.

Shane spent all that "time and editing" on marketing Brittanis story imo. Like how was this podcast better than that. Tr chemistry with the Taylor's was great as well.
