a handful rush into it without thinking and can't handle the union. They give a bad reputation to the responsible couples out there. As long as one goes into a marriage with a responsible and objective mind, and is also of legal age, it doesnt matter how old or how young.

Sadly there are people who act rude like that. I got married when I was 21 and my hubby was 25. Everyone was asking "arent you too young?" Or saying they were scared for us because we were so young and couldnt know what we wanted or understand love. And we should just wait. And on the way many people insulted us. Last week we had our 1st anniversary and things are going great and we are still in love!

To me personally it just seems that your character and future wishes might still change and you attached yourself too quickly to another person and are maybe more likely to stay together because it is the old routine and you are used to each other but not because you really love the other person truly. And in most cases it might be your first relationship or you have been together for not such a long time so in my opinion the risk of not working out as a couple in the longterm is too high. and you don't really lose anything by just waiting a few years more....but I don't wanna hate on anyone. thats just my view on things :)

Trebor Arago But wait, if the divorce rate is so high, then wouldn't that be because one or the other in the relationship? Supposedly when someone divorces another so early in a marriage it's because the other one suddenly changed. Is that the 'maturity' you speak of? Does being mature mean you get to stop loving your partner because they need to 'catch up'? Its a very simple minded way to live life, but if it works then to each their own.

I've worked in several high end restaurants and I always make the most effort for young couples that come in, because I know that this is probably something that they've had to work their asses off for and will appreciate everything that comes to their table. Fine dining is about the entire experience, not just the food, and I can't imagine any waiter would treat anyone at an establishment like that with such contempt.

Financial stability is harder to come by. A lot of people want to "have fun" in their 20s and do things they wouldn't be able to do with a husband or family. Life expectancy has been steadily increasing in many first-world countries for the past 50+ years. The general "guidelines" or "road map" of a very typical person's life has changed a lot to morph with societal changes.
@lendial9 жыл бұрын
That makes sense but isn't childbirth most viable pre 30? I have friends mid 20s who are in the mindset that they need to get married before 30 if they want to have kids but also wise enough to know rushing into marriage can be disasterous.

Getting married under thirty is not the best choice you can make in my opinion. Why waste the best years of your life (20-30) tied down to one person that you will probably (statistically speaking) end up separating from and probably grow to hate? Go out and live your life a bit before you give it away to someone else.

Wow makes sense. So what if we happen to grow appart? We're just gonna split up, that's it. Why would I do that? "Oh honey, I know we're planning our marriage and we're planning on having kids in like 2 years, but what if we don't love each other anymore 10 years from now? I can't take that risk. I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to break evetything we built togheter as a couple just because I don't want us to MAYBE break up in a couple years." That is more than stupid, seriously.

When people ask if young couples get treated like this....yes yes they do. Sure they were a little under dressed but they could afford to go out and had a great time. Just because you are young and in love people treat you differently.

Katie Siverling I'm 23 and my SO and I have never been treated like that when going out to nice places. Maybe they could not be immature and they'd be treated better!

People don't really act like this lol. Some people are so paranoid when it comes to what other people think of them.

Married when I was 19. Everyone I knew from school or just back home in general that was my age that married is divorced. Pretty safe to say most of the time it does end with divorce. But nowadays that statistic applies to any age.

***** I think most people go into a marriage knowing that they love each other. What they don't know is if they love each other enough to live out the rest of their life with that person. Which is actually unforeseeable and therefore impossible to calculate. I will agree on that. Some people do treat marriage like a joke.
