I have Seasons 1-10 in "2-Season Combo Packs" (for example, Seasons 1 and 2 are packaged together, Seasons 3 and 4 are together, and so on) and Season 11 individually. They're also Mill Creek releases.

My mill creek box sets are all in dvd binders so they don't get scratch easily but it is such a pain I have to do that just to keep my DVDs safe

Bitrate isn't everything. Episodes are ~23 minutes each, so you can do the maths. Keeping just the video and main audio, in an MKV container, episodes vary from 519MB to 681MB, with most being high 500 to low 600s.

I've got this set as well, and also note that the old DVD releases of seasons 4 and onward that Sony put out many moons ago had a generic replacement instrumental tune on the opening and ending of the episodes because they were unable to keep licensing Frank Sinatra's "Love and Marriage" on the latter part. However, it seems there weren't any snags at first in regard to the Season 1-3 sets because those had the song intact and this was finally sorted out and corrected when Mill Creek got the rights after Sony's license expired. Thus, the former are the ones to get if you want what's closer to the original run either this complete series set or the double pack season releases.

Hi Justin. Do I purchase this box set as per the review or the “Big Bundy Box” (34 disk set Sony released in 17/06/20)? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

@@MHz-jl6wt The set reviewed in the video is better because it has the proper opening and closing song through the entire series. The Sony releases i assume would all have the generic instrumental after the third season.

Hi Justin thank you for your prompt reply. I just found out that there is another difference in the DVD sets. Sony’s is the syndicated version of the show (some episodes are cut to be shorter in length, so some scenes are missing). Mill Creeks is unedited, the issue is they jammed more episodes per disk leading to increased compression therefore lower picture quality.

In case anyone finds this thread. Hopefully if the animated series goes ahead, there will be renewed interest in MWC and it will finally get the release it deserves. In the mean time, Mill Creek set is currently the best available, but it's far from perfect. Based on the edits listed on the Bundyology site, the following edits were identified in this release... Season 2 - Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Part 1 - Missing lines about finding Kelly's report card. Season 2 - Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Part 2 - No licking. Season 2 - Oldies But Young'Uns - Anna (Go To Him) missing from end credits. Season 5 - Look Who's Barking - Static credits with BB King. Season 4 appears to be intact, but not all of the edits are well documented. Live action sequences from closing credits in seasons 7 and 8 are missing. This was likely done to edit the music originally, but Mill Creek didn't go back to the original source material to fix these. Seasons 1, 2, 4-11, omit references to "Love And Marriage" from the credits (only seasons 4-11 with the Sony releases).

Mill Creek botched the opening song restoration. I am surprised that i am the only one who is mentioning this. On the black title screen, the "With Children" stamp is supposed to have a clink noise. That sound is out of sync as it plays about 3 seconds into the credits.

Last year got the uk ver which is the highest quality ver if you people want the highest get this ver all eps have a max bitrate of 9-10k Which these ver shown in this vids have bitrate problems which is why the quality is so bad its mutiple eps with mixed bitrates instead of the uk ver where the bitrate is constantly the same The only bad thing is the uk ver cost way more mine was 60

I bought that same one in December 2015, in Amazon for 24.49 USD I love the series, but I felt the image was too compressed in that edition, later in Amazon Prime I noticed is quite the same quality image, I mean Little Praire in BluRay got even better quality, I wish that could be with this one too

I just bought it from Amazon at a more expensive price. A few years ago, I bought Knight Rider from Mill Creek and was disappointed on the quality of the image. We could see that the sampling rate was low. There were square on the screen like a low resolution recording. But the MWC set has a higher resolution and also you can have the subtitles using the RCA jacks of your DVD player and hooked it up to your HDTV (if you have them) and turn on the subtitles setting on your TV. I tried it and was successful. By the way, your box set is a great bargain, I paid mine more than the double at Amazon.

Soul Hackers was massively overlooked at its time. I remember playing the game and trying to finding 3DS discussions boards and no one was playing it or had interest. The 3DS also had a slow start and a small user base. I know this isn't a Pokemon channel but it is a system seller and Black and White 2 was released a year before Soul Hackers. People just didn't care too much for the 3DS overall at the time. I think everyone has had their fill on their personal interest titles and looking for some retrospective opinions on titles they missed and thus Soul Hackers is going up in price because of that. Also Atlus in general get pricey as time goes on. Your call on why that is.

Hi. Just a suggestion. It sounds like you are pretty unhappy with the MC packaging, but understand it keeps the cost down. So, I am not sure why you still have these dvds in their original sleeves. After all you mentioned they scratch easy this way and that you have to be “extremely careful when you take them out”. Sure hope you have these dvds protected better. I myself would prefer cases but I end up buying some if need be. The Simpsons season sets are pretty bad. They were in these tight booklet pages. Real bummer. Those season sets were pretty expensive, but had a lot of nice bonus features. I like the added extras.

That's a good point. I still keep them in the cheap cases just because I don't watch them often enough to warrant upgrading to a better case. I just make sure to be very careful taking the discs in and out.

hi i bought the Married With Children: The Complete Series (DVD, 2011, 32-Disc Set) Box Set i think it was released by sony. i bought it 9 years ago at best buy i think. not sure how much it cost. all the disc are stacked in two plastic holders it does have an episode guide. seasons 1 2 3 all loaded with bonus features. not sure if mills creek releases have bonus features are not.

I agree. Mill Creek really stink so much with DVD packaging. They ether need to re-release all the classic TV shows on DVD with DVD cases with flippers or Shout! Factory will have to release them in better packaging and Mill Creek will have to be banned.
