A lot of people on here saying how they got a good laugh, and I understand that a lot of this story though tragic, is unfortunately kind of comedic. But behind the laughs I believe that many of you are crying inside for her. People don't understand what it can mean to not have guidance.I understand what it's like to not have the guidance or even presence of a father or mother, even worse having to deal with a jealous parent when they do show up. I hardly had any guidance from the age of 11, but before that I was raised very strictly and properly. It's that early care and strictness I think that saved me from making certain poor decisions. A lot of people have had zero guidance and care, and others don't understand what they're battling with. I read a story today about a 22 year old woman who's mother died when she was 18. Her mother had always done everything for her, and she never learnt how to take care of herself. Now she's struggling with that. However well meaning sometimes, it's irresponsible and dangerous for parents to not teach their kids to take care of themselves. This guy who who doesn't seem to brush his teeth etc., he probably has his own story of lack of care and guidance. Tony has talked about this stuff before, basic things that people aren't taught, to maintain their dignity as human beings. This might be a bit controversial, but I actually believe that some not well-meaning parents deliberately don't teach their kids anything because of a jealous backward-thinking mindset, not wanting their kids to progress in the world, to do better than them. I think that this is not uncommon in certain aspects of the black community. So let's pray that this sister gets a grip of herself, and begins to focus more on her and her children, and not some dysfunctional drama king.
