This was my first serious amp from 97-2004 and I stupidly sold it because “I needed a tube amp.” This amp was amazing.
@agusg.t.89509 ай бұрын
It had a tube in the preamp indeed. I did the same, my first real amp, and I sold it for an ac30 in the 90s. Still miss it bit still use this ac30

Tube amps have their place, but so does a good solid state unit...the valvestates and the lead series that preceeded them were just very usable amps
@TheMasonator7779 ай бұрын
I did the same with my “mine from new” mint cond. Marshall Lead 100 Mosfet. Traded it for a silverface Twin… Been kicking myself for 30 years.
@jasondorsey71109 ай бұрын
@@TheMasonator777 I did something similar, I had an original 6v6-powered ampeg reverberocket and traded it for a '71 super bassman, that ampeg was the best sounding combo I've ever played through but it was the 90s and I needed more power :/

It is my 50th birthday come next week, and my family got me a Boss Katana Air used off of Reverb for $250 plus $15 shipping. That was such a good deal, and I don't play or perform in front of people, and have zero desire to do so, so a practice amp is what I need now. I have a Mesa/Boogie Blue Angel amp that needs to be repaired, and a Crate GFX-1200H with a 4x12 loaded with Fender/Eminice Special Design speakers, that give me the vintage tone I am looking for and wanting. The Marshall MG series or any of the Marshall Solid States or Hybrid amps are still on my wishlist, just because I am a HUGE Jimi Hendrix fan, and that is the amp he is known for playing. I know he played other amps, and a Fender Twin Reverb and a Bassman are also on my list of amps to get, but I really don't want a tube/valve amp, Solid State and Digital Modeling is the way to go, also amp sims on your computer are awesome with some Ownhammer IR's.

I’ve got one and love it. Was my first amp head I bought last year for £75. It does start to pop and crackle every now and then so it probably needs looking at however other than that I can’t fault it. I have it plugged into an MG412A cab which is 8 ohm so really I should get a 4 ohm cab or another 8 ohm to balance things out but in my parents eyes it’s too loud as is. It works really well blended with my Evh 5150 iconic half stack using my ABY box. The tones match so well weather I set them up for blues or metal
