I bought the Code 25 last week and I absolutely love it. The Marshall Gateway app is phenomenal. I had a Line 6 and I couldn't get that sound I wanted. I have it now and I'm loving my new amp. This amp is so loud, I don't need anything else. Love it!!!
@eriknjoo2 жыл бұрын
I have just bought the Code 100 which I was really excited about having read the description and watched the demo videos. The amp does sound amazing, but yesterday, on the first occasion that I actually tried the amp during band practice, I was shocked to discover that when I step on the provided (2-way) footswitch to change presets (like activate one with distortion or heavy delay) mid-song, the flow of the sound broke, there was a moment of silence before it switched to the next preset. I've been trying to research this on the Internet, but have only found 2 instances of it being addressed, no one talks about this in review videos or blogs. This baffles me - how is (mostly) everyone ok with this? When I asked via mail, the response I got from Marshall was that as it's a digital amp, a slight delay is normal. Weird, there's no delay on the Boss Katana or Kemper modelling amps. This effectively makes it impossible to use the built-in effects of the amp, which is exactly what its main outstanding feature is. Why have a 100 presets when you can't switch mid-song? Are guitarists only supposed to use the Code family to select the main sound they want for a certain song, then keep using pedals for changes mid-song? I'm extremely disappointed, since the built-in effects were the main reason I went for this amp - I wanted to use it as an amp with a built-in multi-effect board.

Same problem here
@eriknjoo2 жыл бұрын
@@alexmalch Since then I've bought the separate 4-way Code switch which, if you use it in 'switch' mode rather than preset mode, can instantly activate an effect, such as distortion or delay. Not as happy as I was pre-purchase, but at least it's a workaround that works. Nevertheless, I find it weird that even when I contacted Marshall they didn't inform me of this solution, and I had to find out on my own.

Just received my 212 yesterday. I'm still working out all the features. This is an incredible amp. I recently bought several pedals that I don't need and I've got so much power I'm blown away. This thing is a beast.
@eriknjoo2 жыл бұрын
You will need your pedals as there is a significant lag when switching between presets with the footswitch. This makes the footswitch (and the presets for that matter) absolutely useless mid-song.
@castleanthrax18332 жыл бұрын
@@eriknjoo Yes, you're right. Fortunately I didn't get rid of my pedals. I saw in your other comments that other dig modelling amps don't have this "lag". Is that right? I can understand the Kemper not having any lag. It costs more than 5 times what the code does, but the Katana doesn't "lag" either? ✌️🇦🇺
@eriknjoo2 жыл бұрын
@@castleanthrax1833 that's what the people in the store where I bought the Code 100 told me. I called to ask about the delay and they were totally surprised. They said the Katana switches to other presets instantly.
@666gatsu6664 жыл бұрын
Just bought one. The real con of this amp is that there is a lot of lag when you switch between presets. So, if you want to quickly change from clean to distortion you need the optional pedal which allow to disable single effects and built clean and distortion in one single preset. This obviously limits the possibility to build a heavy distortion since heavy distortions are based on od preamps

I have a code 25 practice amp. It sounds great, has plenty of volume and lots of cool, easily adjustable, models and effects. My only serious gripe (and the only reason that I won't be keeping it) is the lack of an effects loop, which means that you cannot use it alone with a looper pedal in any meaningful way. Don't be fooled by the 'looper' setting, it isn't a true looper, it's just a {not particularly useful) long delay effect. Quite a faux pas when you consider that most people who purchase the 25 will be using it primarily for home practice. If you like to use a looper, buy something else; it will only frustrate you.

Hi Marshall & Sam Ash: I was thinking of getting a Marshall CODE100 combo amp. On the back of that amp, there's an 8ohm cabinet connection OUT jack. The manual says "26. SPEAKER OUTPUT (CODE100H ONLY)", so I'm not sure if one CAN even use an external cabinet, as that part is unclear (why put an output jack on the combo version if it can't be used???). At any rate, scenario: If I connect that jack to, say, an external Marshall Lead 1960 cabinet, will the combo amp's internal speakers CONTINUE to work WHILE the external cabinet is connected, or will it ONLY play through the external cab when connected? I'm asking because I thought it would be cool to have a true "stereo sound" in my jam room, keeping the combo nearer me and then placing the larger 1960 4 x 12 cabinet cross the room for a big, wide sound. Comments or suggestions?
