I own the Bose Flex and was really amazed by how much spacious sound comes out of that little package. It was actually too bass heavy for my taste but the EQ can tame that down. But you've got me wanting to pick up an Emberton.

JBL always going to lean bass heavy. With BT speakers, and speakers in general more bass makes the speaker seem better unless it washes out the rest of the sound.

i have the original bose mini soundlink II and the Emberton. they are both amazing in their own ways. the bose is omnidirectional and sounds amazing but only where you point it and the emberton is 306° emersive. both hold up in 2022

I appreciate the time you took for them. It appears in part 1 the BOSE speaker was in your bottom tier. Although it is a different one on this video, I didn't expect the turnaround :) Great work! These tests are not done properly. We all appreciate the effort but to make a useful comparison you need to keep consistent the distance and the angle of the speaker from the microphone.. You can't keep the speakers in your hands, moving them around and expect to make a useful comparison

Wow, the Marshall sounded really bad in your video. Boxy, muffled, bassy, distant... I enjoyed the JBL most, which surprises me, being a somewhat-highend hifi guy.

You love emberton so this is really weird . sony and jbl should definitely switch palace because except for bass xb23 if way better than flip 5 This is not based on video. I own xb23. Flip 5 was little bit expensive it's more popular and i love bass but i chose not to spend few more bucks for more bass and lower sound quality

To me, Flip 5 sounds better than Marshall. I did personally tested and I'm an audiophile. Marshall has a slight edge on sound quality but the soundstage sucks compared to Flip 5. With that said, overall, Flip 5 is the best.

I'm on my third Flip 5 and I finally decided to replace the battery instead of buying a whole new speaker. Unfortunately with the new battery, it works but it shuts off if you turn up the volume (New Battery, didnt do it with the old battery). I have searched the entire internet, I believe they don't want you replacing your own battery. My first 2 would not even turn on on the charger when the battery got weak and died. I thought that was odd.... Why wouldn't it turn on even when plugged in to the wall? So unless I have missed something, I think I will be avoiding JBL products in the future as I see these issues as shady business practices.

The only complaint i have with the Emberton is that I dont get 20 hours of play on a full charge. I get half that. Im wondering if the 20 i hear about has to be on low volume. Its either that or I got a defected one.

Flip can be connected with another flip for wide spacious stereo which the the Emberrton supposedly can't do .. Personally I would not buy a speaker that can't be paired period !Stereo pairing is the way to go to get nice superior sound plus you can pair up to 100 together so the flip should be the winner ..

How is the xb23 supposed to sound good? It's just not nice to listen to it. On the sonos you just drop the bass to - 3 and increase Treble one notch from the eq, and then you can't beat that sparkling Treble. It is the best on the table regarding sound quality. The xb33 is among the worst, the bose is junt noth2to talk about, and the jbl with that bad Treble and intermodulations is just uh. The marshall is decent, but still not the best. The bass rolls off too quickly, and the Treble, mmmmmm. Still, if you don't like flat sound you can try to eq the speakers through their app(the ones that have). Good luck!! 😊

Its funny because i have a couple older altec lansings and they sound very nice. Im not an audio file but i do use a marantz with really good klipsche speakers so i do know good sound stage. I dont know about the new altecs but my 2019 altec is actually very clear and not muddy with bass.
