Marshall JVM 410C 100 watt combo meets Tokai Les Paul....forgot how much I love this amp :-)

I'm actually playing through a blackstar cab with 2 Greenbacks and 2 Vintage 30's in X pattern. Boss Gigadelay in loop. Amp has built in reverb.

A few years ago I wanted to buy JVM410c. Unfortunately, no store carried it and Marshall distributor in my country no longer imported that particular model. So, I bought a Blackstar HT combo. Sadly, I never like my blackstar combo particularly its dirty channel. So watching this video feels weird for me. JVM410 sounds really good when combined with blackstar 4x12 cab.

I just noticed that you did this video EXACTLY one year ago to the day ! ... Interesting coincidence as I have the same Amp & decided to see who's done a KZbin video of late on this badboy. I love mine to bitz & these days much prefer combo's over the head/quad configuration. This Amp IS KILLER !!! ... Very under-rated & there's much more under the hood than most people realise in my humble opinion Marshall got this one RIGHT !!! ROCK ON (Y) (Y) (Y)

@@1981SG that can be subjective...but personally I find the Dirty Shirley has gotten me closer than any other amp other than my vintage JMP (1979).

@@nigel900 easy mistake! it was a great guitar....ended up replacing it with a custom shop '59 reissue and never looked back. Took me 6 months to pay off but it was worth it!

My Tokai LS142 arrived a couple weeks ago and the MK2 Alnico 5's are a little dissapointing. They sound muddy through my plexi. They do sound decent through my 65' Fender but I expected the Marshall would pair nicely

Man. You wouldn’t even need a 100w head with that beast. Lol just plug in a 4x12 if you need it but that is the perfect way to go for me if I get this amp… there’s a used one for 2000 near me. Debating spending an entire paycheck to get it. I’d have to sell my jcm 2000 tsl though for sure…

I have not noticed the delay between switching channels on mine. I think he does switch channels in this video at 4:55. I didn’t hear a dead spot during the switch.

To answer your question- all of the channels are the same, with the exception of the green mode selection on the clean channel. Each of the 4 channels has a “Gain” knob and a “volume” knob. Each of the 4 channels also has a green, orange, and red mode. *When in the green mode on the clean channel, the volume is controlled -exclusively- by the “gain” knob. When in the clean channel, green mode, the “volume” knob will not affect the volume. (Sounds crazy but it’s actually listed on the control panel.) However, if you switch to either the orange mode or the red mode on the clean channel, the volume knob becomes active again, and raising the gain will add grit. There are 4 channels: clean, crunch, overdrive 1, and overdrive 2. I love the clean channel! But I think my favorite is the crunch channel, in the orange mode. There is some serious Mojo happening on that setting!
