I just purchased this amp. I have always been a Dual Rec guy but it's funny that as I got older I returned to a hard classic rock sound and this amp can do it and much more. Just a matter of taste. I had the multi-watt version of the Dual Rec and it is a great amp, but my taste has evolved or regressed depending on how you look at it. BTW, what convinced me is due to the fact that my neighbor lent me the JVM for a week and I just fell in love with it. And to think that years back I did not like the JVM, but this was due to the fact that I had only tried the JVM at Guitar center and only for 15 minutes at most.
@KandyMan906 жыл бұрын
I realise this is a really old video, however the description of the master volume is incorrect. It is not master 1 controls 2 channels, master 2 controls the other 2 channels, both masters control all channels, the second one is there to give you a boost you can toggle via the foot switch for solos and stuff
@tigman6854 жыл бұрын
Correct, got this amp as well. Also none of the footswitch buttons are not designed to effect reverb only 😅

What Danny said about the master volumes at the beginning is wrong, they are independent volumes for 2 different settings controlled by the master volume switch below the knobs

Yeah, he got it wrong. The second MV can be used as a volume boost with the foot controller in all the channels. At about 10:05 he contradicted himself about how to use it.

Really good review and playing, I just wish you had mic'd it someway that we couldn't hear the sound of the pick hitting the actual strings. That way we could get a feel for how the amp responds to pick attack. Based on this, it sounds like this amp can do everything except for possibly super-crunch chuggs for metal (both because of the mic issue I mentioned and the style of playing that was used)

Dave Bostock there are plenty of idiots playing open, first fret palm muted bullshit and generic sweep trash in videos with every amp you can think of. People who took time to learn more want to hear dynamics.
@DaveDoingDaveThings7 жыл бұрын
Billy Bates Haha, snobbish answer much? Still doesn't make any case for why there can't be both because just soloing isn't showing off dynamics. The best way to show an amp off is surely to show how it responds to as much variety as possible especially for things that are the most used yet it would seem the majority of reviews focus solely on how it sounds to randomly jam a generic solo which is fine if everyone is only looking for an amp to busk in city centres with

The Marshall JVM amp is for real. I own a 215C (1x12combo) and have had the best sounding recorded lead and crunch sounds I have heard, including anything thats been professionally recorded. It just sings and is almost no effort to get the sounds you want. Yes, I own a Gibson LP but use a Dean Hardtail Select for most of what I record of late (made in Korea $500 new, stock pups) and the sound is incredible. I am impressed, although I love Marshalls, (I owm a JCM DSL 20000), this amp rocks!

Danny nice playing, enjoyed your playing! Do you play in a pro band? Killer riffs! I was wondering if this new JVM at 100 watts would sound good in overdrive channels with out cranking up MV past 2-3. I play in cover band at moderate volumes in medium venues. I think these newer 100 watt heads are built more preamp anyway. The old marshalls never sounded good unless you turned up loud or use attenuator. I would always go 50 watt, but like the body of 100.

I got this amp now and gave two great amps away to get it (Orange Rockerverb 50 and a Marshall AFD 100). Somehow I now regret it because this 410H Amp has so much noise in the gain channels that I have to use an ISP Decimator II to eradicate that noise. It works, however makes the distortion sound handling somehow "synthetic". So for my gig I decided to use my Mesa Boogie Duel Rec Amp, which has nosuch problems. However, I would have so much liked ot have a great Marshall however cannot use it on stage. OK, I can try to turn down all the gain, however is that really cool? I am really sad.

@rebel-yell94538 жыл бұрын
Exactly, he got it wrong when he said master 2 was for the bottom channels, master one and master two work on all 4 channels, master two comes into play when you hit switch position 5, I always use master 1 as my rhythm volume and master 2 as my lead volume no matter what channel I am using or what mode on that channel I am using.
