the Marshall mg15cfx is the best solid state amp ever (IMO). I play valve amps but I was blown away by it when trying out a guitar in guitar centre

I got an Marshall g15rcd I bought together with a guitar in a pack and also a Marshall MG50FX. I sent the first one for repairs and ended up sounding awesome for distorted and OD sounds, but so so for cleans. The MG50FX is good for clean sounds but real crap for distorted and OD sounds. And the digital fx are so so, although very handy. You can even rehearse with a band using the first one, although pushing it up to 8 and more on volume, so it's the best option for practicing alone. I'm using the MG50FX along with a distortion pedal for rhythm guitar whenever I rehearse or need it for live playing with a band now.

@HMProdcutions All the DFX amps were the first line of the MG series, the FX is a latest line in the series. The FX series has different effects and a memory store mode for different tones. Just look at the DFX manual and the FX manual, you will see the difference in the front panel :). Hope this helped!

i own a Marshall MG100HDFX and its pretty good for what i paid for it $200 aint bad for a half stack. not everyone has the money to front for a $3000 stack, so you have to take into consideration what you get for your money. yes the mg15 does suck balls, the half stack on the other hand doesnt suck balls, plenty of amps out there much worse than the marshall

To anyone who thinka this amp sounds shitty, take it from someone who uses a mg30cfx as their main amp, I use an epiphone LP and at LOW VOLUMES the amp sounds like shit, but it sounds great when you raise the volume.

Sounds like they improved the MG series. I tried a MG 15 out about a year ago and I found it a bit disappointing. However I do like the sound of this, next time I am in the market for a practice combo I will try this one out again.

danieltv123 Yeah, I had the original micro stack and it was fantastic. I never really understood the criticism against them. I have the MG30CFX for practicing in my office and it's great.

@DCHammett Yes, yes it is, sir. I just bought the MG30dfx, and its just 50 buck more expencive than this 15 model, and the amp holds up pretty well in all kinds of styles. It's very versatile. If you are undecided on witch amp to buy, buy this, you wont be disapointed one bit

the power output, on the mg30 it has 30watts and the mg 15 has 15 watts. apart from that they are very similar
