Marshall Monitor II A.N.C. Headphones - How to detach ear cushions (you can hear the struggle)

Tools needed: guitar pick or plastic card
*Fingernails might damage the surfaces
Its pretty tight but once 1 flap detaches, holding the ear cushion by the hard plastic rim and moving it gently is enough to detach the hole thing.
Placing the cushions back is hell at first. Just hold the hard plastic rim and move it back and forth and it will gently come into place. **Do not try to force it

For all of you wondering how to get these back on, there’s no good way of doing it. The foam around the ear piece actually separated and detached on my pair, so Marshall sent me a new one. I messed around with them for like over an hour trying to get the god damn ear piece back in. Anyways, there’s no real technique, just keep pressing down on all the corners, and hold the ones that clicked in already in place while trying to get the other ones. I’m a product designer by profession, and this design fucking sucks. Sure they look cool, but god damn if I knew how much trouble this ear piece would cause me I would’ve never bought them in the first place…

Today, I've been trying to make a video but it's evening already and I need natural light so the details can be seen; I'll record tomorrow morning. I found 2 ways to put them back on that are consistent: one is shaking/quivering and the other is by holding headphones and cushions evenly with all 10 fingers spreaded around the rim. I think tomorrow's video will solve this issue once and for all.

How do you then replace them? Because the replacements I can find online all have only a soft back, so I presume I would need to take the pads off of the plastic they are on? (but how? ) thanks

and these are really heavy and the Left/Right plates' screws corrode with sweat (*´-`)
