Great demo. The best I've seen so far of this amp. I really appreciate that you gave us some clean tones. For me these amps are not just about AC/DC. The strat tones on the neck instantly recall Little Wing. Can't wait to hear the 50w.

Was going to say the same. While I was initially really excited about this series, every demo since NAMM has lowered my expectations. Yours is the first one that makes this amp sound decent, and I've watched them all!

Thanks, Rick. Really appreciate that! We're just trying to give these amps the demo they deserve - and they DO sound good, trust us!

Nice demo! I‘m glad you didn‘t just only use a humbucker guitar in the bridge position. Love the strat tones with these amps.

At 17:45 is around the ideal tone I wanted to know if this amp was capable of. Would be cool if you guys showed or described control settings used for the various tones you demoed.

A really good demo -Well done! I have the amp and I have found it is one of the easiest to dial in a good tone. Good bottom end for the 10" and I guess due to the design of the cabinet it seems pretty deep to me not lacking at all.She's a keeper..

I have a 20c origin and the best mod i did was swap out the stock v type for a celestion 10 in greenback. And upgraded tubes.

Did the tubes make a big difference?

Is the overdriven tone you get at 6:35 achieved with the pedal or just the amp?

This amp is loud. I just bought one of these and I love it but seriously of you're looking for distorted tones at low bedroom levels you're not going to get it unless you get an attenuator pedal or an overdrive pedal
@dariocrocetta90263 жыл бұрын
Eric CPOP I'd like to buy one of these and use it as a platform for my pedals mostly for small gigs and rehersals. Do you think it would have enough headroom for an average drummer and band situation?I would use a boost in the loop for solos

@BradPaul18634 жыл бұрын
Sadly, Marshall has the harmonic tonality that most demos don't really show. You get close...pretty good. What's missing is some of the crunch/raw tone with no effects. Try this amp in a large hallway, if you can, and you will find it will amaze. All the reverb/bright is "kids stuff".

I own this amp. It's a beast. The boost is crap. Turn it off and forget it. Get a Catalinbread Naga Viper treble booster. Magical.

Have the same one coming this week I have to hear for myself in person. I don't go by people whining in comments. I can think and decide for myself. If I don't like it ill send it back simple as that. Not gonna be using it for gigging im just a novice with money and needs something portable if I need to go practice with the gramps. I have the mini plexi stack at home if I want to be super picky.

Is it me or does the low end on these things completely fall apart once they start gaining up? Maybe it's just really easy to dial in bad sounds on them but that's not a good thing, especially since we're not talking about a triple channel Mesa with 25 knobs and a graphic EQ. The origin's got, what, TMB, volume, gain, tilt? Maybe presence? I dunno. I think I like the DSL line better in this price range. I'm pretty disappointed in the vast majority of the Origin demos I've seen and it's not user error. Obviously, these two cats can play and have a pretty solid grasp of what they're doing. Maybe the 50W head through my 2 x 12 with Creambacks would sound good. I'm gonna withhold my final judgement until I get the chance to play one myself but it's not I'm not feeling all that compelled to at the moment.

I know what you mean it's that flabby bottom end at first I thought it was no socks and his tremolo pedal but there's something not right on all the demos I've seen. I mainly play a strat a love that John Frusciante tone so I thought these amps would be perfect for me, do you think I would be better off with the dsl20?
@sid35gb5 жыл бұрын
frozencons less is more you can have 25 knobs on an amp that don’t do a lot and then you waste a lot of time tweaking to find an appropriate sound for you. As for low end it’s got enough but it’s only important if you play alone in your bedroom. Gigging is a different matter because I’ve seen plenty of metal bands where the guitarist has too much low end and in the mix just gets lost’s because he’s trying to occupy the same frequency’s as the bass guitar which is much louder. This is not a good idea because you end up being a drum and bass metal band hence Marshall who have been making amps for a very long time know that a brighter amp will cut through with the mid ranges that where guitar works best. But play what you like this amp is definitely a vintage style tone so don’t expect to get modern metal tones out of it.

The guy with a moustache talks/plays too much and should let the other guy express himself more. He also plays guitar when the other is talking... Either he should do the demo alone or he should stop talking. The demo sounds good but very bassy.
