Ray, what's up my brother! Yeah man, they definitely didn't move forward in the direction professional guitarists like you have been going along. There's an interview where the two guitarists of Cradle of Filth go over their touring gear. It's TWO tiny Mooer pedals! One is the EVH 5150III preamp and the other is the MooerRadar, which is a speaker simulator. That's it. Two pedals you can put in your pockets. Hahaha! That's crazy but it works for them. They had switched from traveling with Kemper Profilers to these little guys. Haha! Marshall could have been the leader in the digital world! Happy Friday, bro!!

The Marshall family already sold out Marshall Amps. In March 2023, Zound Industries, a Swedish company, acquired Marshall Amplification, a UK-based music company. The acquisition created the Marshall Group, which includes all Marshall brands and subsidiaries. So this has already been done. Everything changes.

5:56 Hey, old Zoomer here! You can absolutely, positively do both. I've played a spattering of rock and metal venues in the 2010s, but my MPC One was a recent purchase, and one of my favorite pieces of gear. Its just so much more versatile for modern music and connecting a mic to it and capturing guitar recordings make me think it might be the new Portatrack. That's why I feel every home studio should have one, or a similar "edm junk" tool like that. Wonderful piece of kit, still not a replacement for guitar. Sometimes you just want to slice up an amen break 😅

Interesting point to consider is will they continue to produce tube amps or will it fully transition to mostly a blue-tooth speaker and headphone company (which is where it seemed to be heading anyway).

Man, it's crazy how heavy gear is. It felt heavy back when I was touring at 18 but man, in my 50s, it's still heavy AF! Yeah man, the only thing that makes sense is digital or run with a portable rig, like a KSR PA50 and some pedal, like the KSR Ceres or Driftwood Purple Nightmare pedal. That combo is light and HEAVY as any 150w tube amp on the market. It's crazy! : )

I think you are right with the statement: ‘it’s not 1985 anymore’, as, back then there were just a few companies making amps. Nowadays the market is very saturated, not only by the big companies like Marshall, Peavey, Mesa, but also by smaller builders like Fortin, Splawn, Mezzabarba, Diezel etc. And tube amps are not car tyres - yes a few components may fail every once in a lifetime, but overall, if maintained properly an amp may serve a lifetime. So, for the normal dude who plays guitar - having 2-3 amps is more than enough. More than that becomes a storage issue, especially if you live in a condo. So many amps have been produced and sold over the last 50 years that even if every company stopped making new amps, there would still be enough on the used market for everyone for many years to come. On the other hand, more and more people are bedroom musicians who play through their PC/laptop or a digital unit like a quad cortex. Smaller touring bands have turned to QC/Kempers years ago.
@louistorres2 күн бұрын
Oh shit, do you think they'll add on digital gear like the QC
@cutoffguitar2 күн бұрын
@ it is not impossible, by the way. I mean - a little late to the party but with an established brand name - why not. It would be cool to have a proper capture of all of their legendary amps in a digital modeller. I have the Omega Ampworks kemper captures for the Obsidian and the Granophyre and they totally rip!

@AuntAlnico4 I need a practice amp that doesn't come with the assorted problems that the DSL 5 gives, how about that? I've been through two, with the exact same problems.
