My all-time favorite amp. The Overdrive 2 (cranked up) is incredible. Every guitar player I ever let play through it offered to buy it off of me, haha. This was my secret weapon when I was in metal bands.

I have the VS100 too and I love it's unique tone, many people stupidly confuse these as the harsher sounding 8100s or AVTs, this second gen was the best, never gonna be selling my one, but these are getting pretty expensive in the US
@HaniTaqi774 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats what I heard from other people too. I never played through a 8100 but I always liked the VS100 and I dont think its too harsh sounding.
@alexanderschubert99754 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I never understood the love for the 8100s compared to the VS100 and VS65. The second gen sounded the most authentically Marshall by far, especially the OD1 channel.

I just bought one recently but just had it serviced because it was a bit dull sounding and definitely didn’t sound anything like this. Turns out it that the preamp tube needed replacing. I get it back tomorrow and I’m stoked to hear it at its full potential

@HaniTaqi774 жыл бұрын
I dont speak Spanish so I had to google translate your comment lol. Yes the tone is good especially considering its a solid state amp. When I bought it in the 90s I had a lot of issues with tube amps because no one in my country could service them. So I was very happy with this amp because it can run forever without any problems and still sound good. Thanks for the comment!

I bought one of these new in the 90s. My first proper gigging amp and I used it for recording home demos using the emulated line out. The guitar tones in those demos still sound good. I sold mine some years ago, but am picking up the combo version tomorrow that someone is giving away for free. From the photo it looks like it's been kept in a shed, so with any luck it will still work!
@HaniTaqi774 жыл бұрын
They are pretty well built amps so hopefully it should work fine. I treated mine like crap over the years and it still works ok. Just developed a bit of a hum but it still sounds the same.

I have this amp and i bought it online, I have no idea how old the pre amp tube is, and my tone sounds way weaker than yours and i have to boost it with a pedal to get a decent tone. Could this be because of an old preamp tube?

what is the difference between vs100r and vs100 I understand that the r is for reverb, but the vs100 that does not have the r is also included reverb, I do not understand what the joke is, can someone please explain to me

Hani Taqi Love the Amp! I put a Boss SD1 in front of the amp, to tighten it up a little more. How about yourself?
@HaniTaqi774 жыл бұрын
Its a great amp. Usually use it with a Maxon OD
@Vincentpadrutt4 жыл бұрын
Hani Taqi read, that both the sd1 and the od808 have a very similar circuitry. Only difference being asymmetrical vs symmetrical clipping. If you just use it as a booster, most people won’t hear a difference. Still, the combination with a overdrive and the mr. Hector is just completely mindblowing. Brutal af.
@HaniTaqi774 жыл бұрын
I have a video with different OD pedals through a 6505 including the SD1. To my ears the 808 is a little more transparent than the SD1. I do like the SD1 though. Its a classic sound.

You can get some really good sounds out of it but it doesn't have enough power and distortion pedals are practically incompatible with it.
