This is crazy. These are two out of my life long top ten list of guitar players. I'm 62 and I'm proud to say that I had the dumb luck of being exposed to these two artists when I was 13 or 14. They're two of the nicest and classist stars on the planet.

@@hihiaurelnarmadashankar4334 Wow. thanks for asking. In not particular order, of course: 1 - Peter Frampton 2 - Randy Bachman 3 - Eddie Van Halen 4 - Robin Trower 5 - Jimi Hendrix 6 - Joe Perry 7 - Keith Richard & Ronnie Wood - where does one end and the other begin.. both brilliant on their own but stellar together 8 - Stevie Ray Vaughan 9 - Gary Moore - recorded he was brilliant. Live he was terrifying. The greatest guitar tone and live technique I have ever heard or seen. 10 - Lil Wayne - Just seeing if you're really reading this. 10 would probably be Billy Gibbons. And who appears on your top ten list?

I live near the RRHOF. What you don't realize is that you cannot induct 65yrs of Rock musicians in one year. They want to keep the museum fresh and new every year so they induct a half dozen or so each year. If they did every one all at once, nobody would come back to visit again 5, 10, 20yrs from now. Eventually every who should be there WILL be there. It's the 2nd best museum in the country! The first one is the Bethel Woods Museum (Woodstock) in New York. #3 goes to the Motown museum in Detroit. Sadly when the airplane crashed, Peter Frampton was set to play in front of 15,000 panamanian fans ! We were there in line to enter to the concert site and were told, he could not play because of the airplane crash. We were under a military government and the promoter got nasty with him. The result is that Peter Frampton never played in Panama. When they mentioned John Entwistle, i though Peter would talk about playing in his "Whistle Rymes" album, he did a great job on it.

I know this will sound corny but, we baby boomers came up at a time when rock n roll was brand new and played by real masters of their craft. They are called "classic rock" for a reason. They wrote the book. On the other hand, this generation of musician is at it's end. Think about it. Seger, Frampton, Bowie, Petty were originals. Now they have influenced the next generation but, as Joe Walsh so profoundly puts it, analog captured the entire spectrum of music whereas digital sounds to clean or unnatural. Nobody knew what a drum machine was back in the 60's. You didn't "play" music from a computer, you played it from a Steinway or Ludwig or Fender. The point is, in another 10 years, all of these great artists will be gone and rock music as we knew it will be gone too. Music was never meant to be heard through a pair of $19.99 ear buds. 14" JBL's and a McIntosh amp playing vinyl is how music should be heard. Hearing the music isn't enough. You have to feel the music fill the room and get your mojo working. Nobody did that better than Randy and Peter.
@susanbradshaw3397 ай бұрын
That's why they will need AI digital music. At the end of human creative emotion induced music.

Peter mentions the Herd but doesn't elaborate: that band was massive in the UK and Europe, with a string of major hits - it was a wonderful band. And Peter was 'The Face of '68', superstar to the teens... which is why he quit the band - he didn't want to be a pop star. And Humble Pie was his band, not Steve Marriott's though Marriott was helping him find bandmates for it prior to quitting the Small Faces and teaming up with Peter. And then on the verge of massive success he quit that band - his own band - because once again it would have been success but not on his terms. So he went solo.
