I will likely never use a hammer in my life, but I find watching your show very interesting. I nearly fell off the roof with you there at the end of the video. That was awesome.

Looks great. Just curious as to why you don’t box out the returns on your gable end overhang?

I prefer this look over the “birdbox” style.

New to your channel saw you using screws for fascia, etc.........What screws are you using? The ones you used to put the blocking in with at the start. It looks like a type of trim screw but smaller head, but none of our big box stores have screw like you are using. I assume the color matching screws come from the metal manufacturer? I was like top down? Ok.....Nice clean work. Off to see if I can find the exterior siding up as a finished product.

We get them from our local, big box hardware store. Link below to black screws but come in all metal colors. www.menards.com/main/hardware/fasteners-connectors/screws/pole-barn-screws/pro-grip-reg-8-x-1-1-4-star-drive-pan-head-premium-trim-screw-1-lb/midnight-black2301594-09/p-10338754666832555-c-8934.htm

@@MrPostFrame Thank you. I appreciate it. Special order here locally is why I have never seen them. The head looks to be bigger than they look in your video, but I will look into them.

I thought in a previous video you said you would always use plywood under steel roofs? Homeowner not like the cost?
@MrPostFrame Жыл бұрын
There were a couple I built without plywood. Client has final decision…I highly recommend. All my latest builds have plywood or at least drip stop.

Great detail on the meticulous part of exterior trim work. It's a constant battle fighting water mitigation. Are you familiar with sheet metal screws that have a dome like washer? They prevent overtightening of the screw and keep the washer in correct form, instead of pooching out if overtightened.
