It's heartbreaking, he renewed the love for the team and got younger generations interested again. I used to joke that the Raiders were the most "losingest" team but the have the most loyal, hard core fans. Say what you want about the team but nobody was fucking with The Black Hole or The Nation smh. They won't get that same open love in Vegas.
@nikag52173 жыл бұрын
@@isaiahindigenousaboriginal5261 I get what you're saying and definitely appreciate it. It won't ever be the same though. We won't have the history. The wins, the losses-we brought renewed hope and optimism to every single game no matter how often we loss at one long point 😅. The dedication and love is so well known that everybody knows about The Raider Nation, about The Black Hole. We were proud of that. The tailgating-North,East,West Oakland all together. If you knew nothing else about Oakland, you knew about The Black Panther Party and The Oakland Raiders. It's sad and there's a lot of hurt feelings in the town. But it's all good, they definitely didn't define the town, they were just a big part of our history and culture. All we have left are the A's.

Born and raised in LA, and was too young to truly be a Raiders fan when they were here, but I know that the Raiders connection is strong between Oakland and LA. However, the hyphy movement hit LA hard when I was in high school, and we fell in love with Bay Area culture and music and fully supported it and adopted it down here as well. That was such a special time because I remember how culturally unified California felt at the time, which we all know usually isn't the case and all of our sports team's fans hate each other (aside from the Raiders before they moved to Vegas.) I say all that to say that even for a lot us down in LA, we truly understood and appreciated the value of this moment. This was not only big for Bay Area identity, but California identity, and black Californian identity, as well as black California culture as a whole. This must have been so eye-opening for some of his teammates who were unaware of the culture, and how strong their identity as a city is but as often not spoken about in the mainstream. So cool, man.

I'm from LA and you put this into perfect perspective I graduated in 06' I feel bad for people who didn't get to experience that time when Bay2LA was in FULL Motion and the streets was LIT! Shoutout to the Bay for Hyphy movement and the Sideshow!

When i think about it, most definitely. Maybe LT? I cant think of many guys who had the luxury of the spotlight of today and made memories that are timeless. On and off the field this man has crazy memories

Being a Patriots fan and having to face him in the Super Bowl I can honestly say Marshawn Lynch earned the title "Beast" at least 10 times over. Respect to the man.

MarShawn Lynch is a huge spark plug to a team. He was the engine and force that made the Seahawks great and got them to two Super Bowls. He had Seattle fans jumping up and down so hard it caused an earthquake. He's easily my favorite football player ever. Oakland you guys got a real one at running back now. We watch him down here in LA and root for him. LA has big time luv for the Raiders. Cali love all day from LA to the Bay.

To be from Oakland , to be Marshawn who has always PROUDLY represented Oakland,To be marshawn who was misunderstood for BEING too Oakland, to then play for Oakland , in Oakland and be celebrated for BEING SOO OAKLAND! All this in the NO FUN LEAGUE (NFL) …. through all his career accolades, this is probably his proudest moment… NFL may not know it, but this is aa HALL OF FAME marketing moment….this is simply BEAUTIFUL! lowkey got me teary eyed!
