Me too. Flounder are a must-net fish for me, but Jeff handles them differently

Can you give out the coordinates of these canals with the Rosos

Todd, While I normally use a fluorocarbon leader, I sometimes question how important it is in our South Louisiana marsh with stained water. I think Venice is a little different because of the river influence. it would be interesting to do a side-by-side comparison of straight braid with no leader vs a leader in one of your usual bayous with "typical" water clarity. Catch a fish with a leader, then change rods with the same lure but no leader. Just a thought because it's too darned hot for me to go fishing. Have fun.

How do you like that Okuma psycho stick rod? What size/weight is it? Looking for a new texas rig rod..........
@MarshManMasson2 жыл бұрын
I'm a big fan. It's medium-heavy power with a fast tip. It's my go-to for this style of fishing. I also really like their Tournament Concept line. Check those out if you haven't yet.

@@MarshManMasson Thank you - Since Okuma doesn't list it as an "inshore rod" I was wondering how the guides are holding up? Have you seen any signs of corrosion on the psycho stick guides?

Couple points-buddy of mine must feel just like Jeff-loves any color for bass,as long as it is BLUE-think this fellow is a follower of Bill Dance.Other item is better nab flounders now as gonna have closed season from Oct 15-Nov 30th to allow them time to spawn!!

Put you a heavy braid leader on. Will help with the abrasion, and give you a little more insurance.

We don’t have that in Maryland unless you’re on the Susquehanna Flats which is southern Pennsylvania north east and Garrett county Maryland deep Creek Lake and it’s fun to have an electric motor but if you ain’t got a 72 V ray motor system you’re not getting back into the areas where you need to be especially to fight any high and low currents so for us we have to take our 25 hp gas motors and find a place that we can launch on a day pass without paying for a permit and we have to go rockfish or catch a bunch of dumb ass catfish flipping on the Chesapeake river in the Potomac trying to catch bass in brackish water our best lake for the area what you have right there we have a spot like that in Carroll county Maryland that’s a man-made lake reservoir and they have a lot of areas like that that you would see in brackish water and it’s just it’s like taking an indoor soccer arena sometimes you got to learn how to fish these areas and Bluff walls and to learn when these fish are not shallow they’re 10 feet deep after the Spohn!!! A lot of people don’t realize that in certain reservoirs and Lakes the Carolina rig is one of your most deadliest fish catchers besides Flippin well it was a non-skirted jig
